Another article that pegs illegal immigrants at just 2.3 million more than they were 15 years ago...

In 2001, the Revised 2000 census figures for Illegal Immigrants was pegged at 9 million.

That nine million had essentially come over after Reagan’s amnesty which wound down around 1990.

I still can’t agree that nine million came over in the years 1990-2000, but only 2.3 million are supposed to have come over since.

Around 2004, Time magazine pegged the yearly inflow of illegals at 3.5 million. While I don’t think that is accurate either, I do think 1.5 to 2.5 were coming over.

And that is in one single year, not 15 years.

Just got back from a visit to my mother in north San Diego County. As near as I can tell, no one does his own yard work—it is all done by people who speak little, if any English. Nice and polite and definitely hard-working, but I’ll bet the majority are not in the country legally. Same is true for all of the little fix-it jobs that are being done.

Here in Southeast Missouri, lawn service guys are all American—often semi retired. They usually hire older teenagers (probably above 18 to avoid liability problems) both black and white to do the mowing, edging etc.

The jobs being done by Mexicans in San Diego could be first or summer jobs for American kids, but those jobs aren’t open to them there.

How does the government know how many illegals are here? There is no way. The 12-million estimate is bogus. Most every illegal would flee when approached by a census worker that asks whether they are a citizen or not. So how do they even have a wild-ass guess.

Happened to be in Sawtooth Forest in Idaho recently...driving up to hike...all of a sudden there’s about 20 Mexicans and a few forest svc I think supervisors..a van said “Farm Labor from Oregon”...They were using chainsaws to clean a lot of blowdown out..
I wondered aloud how many would be illegals...my hub said..oh they wouldnt do that...
