1. Attempted intra-session pocket vetoes on H.R.1 (101st Congress) and S.333 (101st Congress) were disputed. Both bills were enacted into law so are not counted on this table.
2. H.R.4042 (98th Congress) is counted as a pocket veto.
3. A pocket veto on H.R.4476 (44th Congress) is not counted on this table because, "...It was not placed before the President for signature." (H.Doc. 493, 70th Congress, p.24)
4. The total number of vetoes tabulated is 2,566. This figure is 1 less than the numbered presidential vetoes because of the Grant disputed pocket veto (see footnote 3).

We control the house and the senate We have the most corrupt and hardest left president in history, yet Mitch McConnell and John Boehner can't bring themselves to send bills to him that he has to veto.

Why?

In the name of all that is good and our US Constitution, are they not labeling this man with everything from Keystone XL pipeline to tax cuts to reduced regulation to Supreme Court Impeachments?

What a bunch of worthless pansies we have for Republicans. They should be sending up multiple bills daily for Obama to pass or veto.

Are you all sick of this?

Ted Cruz brought my attention to this the other day.

The fact that the most extreme president in our nation’s history has only issued 4 vetoes tells me that he’s gotten nearly everything he’s wanted.

I didn’t hear him talk about it, but I am glad he did.

I went looking for the stats because it just seemed so rare that I hear about Obama vetoing anything. This is unforgivable.

Cruz, Trump, Paul, Walker and anyone that wants to be the nominee should be pounding McConnell and Boehner over this. Question their loyalties!

One thing nobody seems to notice is that for a long time Obama didn’t have to sign OR veto anything, Harry Reid did it for him. At the time of the elections last year Reid had 380 bills on his desk all passed by the House, that he had killed by not allowing a debate or vote in the Senate. (same way he shut down the government, then blamed it on Cruz.)

That not only protected Obama so he wouldn’t be constantly under fire as a veto monster, it also let him constantly whine about a “do nothing Congress” and that those pesky Republicans “just won’t work with me”. And the media never said a word...

So Obama hasn’t had to veto anything, he never got anything to sign or veto. Reid made sure he didn’t have to, and that’s the only reason Obama hasn’t vetoed more bills that anyone else.

McConnell and the Republicans should take every one of those bills and vote on them. If they pass, forward them to the resident. Make a big deal of it.

Talk about Reid having sat on them.

Instead, the Turtle of the Senate has sat on them just like his buddy Reid did.

I may be wrong, but if I understand it correctly, they would have to start over with each one, not just reintroduce it. I’d love to see them pull every one of them out for a vote, and make Obama pull out the veto pen, but it ain’t gonna happen. McConnel is no better than Reid..

He, Boehner, Reid and Pelosi are mean, nasty power brokers.

They don’t give a ratz rear about the good of the nation.
