I saw an interview with a Bay County deputy on the local TV.

I wasn’t paying close attention but did hear him say that it was good the homeowner was armed and also that it was good for citizens to be armed.

There are some good cops out there.

The Sheriff belongs to an organization of Constitutional Sheriffs or something with Constitutional in the name. Back when shooting dogs was all the rage in police departments around the country we had two incidents in two months, Sheriff McKiethen let it be known that that would stop. Police are trained in how to deal with real actual big and dangerous dogs without shooting them and if the officers in any of the departments in the county weren't able to absorb that training then what other training were they unable to absorb? Do they need to be working in Bay County?
There has not been a dog shot by police since.

I think it was the sheriff who did the interview. McKiethen definitely feels that way. He promotes CCW and training.
