Cruz is not going to be the nominee. He may be the brightest and most articulate, but he lacks the ability to connect to the voters on a gut level. He is a policy wonk. And his open rebellion against Senate leadership will ensure that the GOPe torpedos him. First they get rid of Trump and then Cruz is next. Then the choice is between GOPe candidates.
That’s why I say Trump is the tip of the spear.
