Mr. Carson is a gun grabber.
Most doctors are gun-grabbers. That is why when asked at the doctor’s whether you have guns the answer is always no.

Carson made one “gun grabby” comment about cities and rural areas having different standards. He retracted it and has made many strong statements against gun control and about the importance of the 2nd Amendment to prevent tyranny. IIRC, he said he favored citizens being able to own fully automatic weapons. Not 100% sure if we should trust him on the issue, but it is possible he hadn’t given gun rights a whole lot of thought as a doctor and has come to see the light.
Trump wrote in his book that he favored a ban on “assault weapons” and a 3 day waiting period for all gun purchases. He also blasted the Republican party for “walking the NRA line” and opposing “even limited restrictions”. He also now says he is pro gun.
I don’t know if we should trust either or both. Personally, I am more confident in Carson than Trump on guns. YMMV.
Ted Cruz has a consistent, excellent record on guns and every issue I am aware of, so he is my first choice.
