The Guardian Angels are back — and their leader says it’s because Mayor Bill de Blasio can’t keep New York City safe.
Curtis Sliwa, 61, radio personality and founder of the unarmed anti-crime patrol, joined five of his Angels in their first sortie into Central Park in more than two decades Sunday night.
“If the mayor won’t let the cops do their job, then we, the citizens, will have to go back to guarding our parks, streets and subways,” Sliwa said. Modal Trigger

The Guardian Angels, who wear red jackets and berets, will patrol the city day and night, ready to make citizen’s arrests or “physically intervene” if necessary, Sliwa vowed.
They saw no criminal activity, but “one slow night doesn’t mean anything,’’ Sliwa said. “We’ll be coming out night and day, from this point on.’’
Sliwa blasted the mayor, calling him “totally clueless about crime in New York” and adding, “The homeless and mentally ill are running rampant.’’
Sunday night, the group patrolled pathways, but veered off to search wooded areas where druggies or muggers might be waiting to pounce.
“Central Park is the crown jewel of New York,’’ Sliwa said. “If we lose the park, we lose the city.”

I love it, reliving the 1980s with Sliwa leading the way. The Mayor was booed at the Dominican parade this Sunday - he can’t even get along with them. Meanwhile, that wily if corrupt and criminal Road Runner, Cuomo, was cheered.
How about New York just go ahead and repeal all those anti-constitutional citizen disarmament laws! Armed citizens reduce crime.
Makes you realize, say what you will, that Rudy was a damn good mayor.
It hurts to be reminded how far we have fallen.
And those soldiers must be turning over in their graves knowing how politically correct America’s armed forces have become.
