They need 10 at the children’s table and 6 in the real debate, not the other way around. I think Perry will drop out before then as well.
CNN likely will try to do worse.
But then again, they could really help themselves by doing a professional presentation, asking real questions, and making themselves look more grown-up than Fox.
Trump being there will automatically give them major ratings, so why not get some good karma out of it?

CNN?! At the Reagan Library?! I’m thinking CNN have taken advantage of an elderly lady.
CNN may very well want to capture some of Fox’s audience. It wouldn’t be difficult. All CNN would need to do is be professional. A big part of that is being impartial, i.e. not pushing an agenda. Fox, for example, is only fair and balanced if the scale has Democrats on one side and the GOPe moderate/centrists on the other. True conservatism rarely has a voice on any of the major networks.
Let's just say past performance is not an indicator of that.
6:50 a.m. update: Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign has stopped
paying any campaign staff, according to CBS News.
Citing a source close to Perry’s campaign, CBS reported that Perry’s national campaign
manager Jeff Miller, “told campaign staff on Friday that the only expenses moving forward
would be for travel.”
According to the CBS report, “Some will work on a volunteer basis, but Miller has given staffers
the green light to look for jobs elsewhere.”
