Glenn Beck: Why Do Conservative Pundits Support Trump?

Glenn Beck wants to stage a conservative intervention. The former Fox News host and prominent conservative commentator is confounded that so many Republican voters are attracted to Donald Trump. And Beck is particularly bewildered by the conservative pundits who are hooked on the bombastic real estate mogul. "Why are big name 'conservatives' supporting him?" Beck asked wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday. Beck went on to name names, calling out some of Trump's biggest boosters in conservative media: Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage.

"I am not talking about the average Joe, I am talking about Sean Hannity or Ann Colter (sic). How about Savage or Rush?" Beck wrote. "These are smart people. What am I missing? Just based on his favorability ratings he could never win in a general. Research shows that he may be near his ceiling now."

“He’s already waffling.
This is a guy who enters into contracts to borrow huge amounts of money, and then turns around and pulls a bankruptcy, repeatedly. Do you really trust a guy who breaks his promises like that to do what he says?
I just don’t get how credulous FR’s Dupes for Donald really are. It’s mystifying.”

It was 4 business subsidiaries of Trump’s, out of approximately 500 businesses entities that Trump has, that ended up in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Trump never went personally bankrupt himself . Got that, 4 out of 500 businesses. Geez, and in case you don’t know it, bankruptcy is legal and has given many people, both personally and business-wise, the ability and opportunity to dig themselves out of a hole, not ruin their whole lives and that of their families, and get back on their feet. That’s why bankruptcy laws exist, a way to bounce back in life.

I personally had relatives that went bankrupt when the bottom fell out of the market in 2008, and like many non-franchise small restaurant enterprises, they went belly up. Many small Ma and Pa operations did. It happens to people both personally and business-wise all the time. People who take risks, God bless them, put it all on the line, and sometimes they make it, sometimes they don’t. But without them, our world would never have gotten anywhere in history Never. Eighty percent of jobs are created by small businesses. No risks, few jobs available.

For any people who may have lost out in the Trump subsidiary bankruptcies (it was primarily banks and financial institution investors, not Joe Six-Pack) Trump through all of his businesses has hired thousands more people over his career, many of them minorities, including lots of hispanics, as Trump is primarily in the building trades. You people who constantly knock Trump without knowing a whole lot about him and what really happens in his world of business, irritate the heck out of me. You know little but badmouth much.

Chapter 11 allows businesses to reorganize and get back up or to get out of the business entirely if necessary. Companies utilize this tool all the time. United Airlines, in fact probably most of the airlines, have gone in and out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy over and over again. Sometimes bankruptcy is necessary and that is why it exists in law.

Bottom line, get off your high horse, and get on the Trump bandwagon, a place where every single American citizen with an ounce of sense and a craving for major positive change in our country, needs to be. Without Trump there will be very little change at all in the way things are currently done, as a professional politician winning will then be virtually guaranteed. It won’t be Ben Carlson, it won’t be Carly Fiorina winning, it will be from the political class, most likely RINO at best Jeb Bush. Go Trump to save our country!

Did you read what I posted? The direct quote from Cruz as to why he was there? Copied directly from the Breitbart article.

Yeah he was there with medical professionals, the Red Cross, etc., trying to avert a humanitarian crisis caused by Obama.

Regardless of how I feel about illegal immigration, I’m not going to sit back and let a bunch of kids die either, because that a-hole in the WH wants to score political points.
That’s one of the parts of being a Christian. That “Love Thy Neighbor” thing wasn’t a suggestion from God.

But you know you go ahead and keep posting your salacious headlines, and statements.
You all have gone from tearing down the media, tearing down the GOPe (no prob with those) to now trying to tear down the really good candidates to protect the fact your emperor has no clothes.

I’m in the building trades, and as I stated above, I know all about how Trump operates, ripping off contractors. You know the little guy, plumbers, roofers, etc.

Have you worked for him?

My understanding is he drives a hard bargain, but once it’s agreed to he lives by it.

It was 4 business subsidiaries of Trump’s, out of approximately 500 businesses entities that Trump has, that ended up in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

You make it sound small, but the amounts were in the billions. Yet none of his other ventures were at risk. He owed the money he'd promised to pay and had resources available with which to pay at least a substantial fraction. Did he dig into his "other pocket" for some of that cash? No. Was it legal? Yes. Was it ethical? No.

You can trust him. I don't.

That’s why bankruptcy laws exist, a way to bounce back in life.

He wasn't destitute and was at no such risk.

I personally had relatives that went bankrupt when the bottom fell out of the market in 2008, and like many non-franchise small restaurant enterprises, they went belly up. Many small Ma and Pa operations did.

That is a far cry from Donald Trump, and therefore a FALSE analogy.

You're not doing very well.

Trump through all of his businesses has hired thousands more people over his career, many of them minorities, including lots of hispanics ILLEGALS, as Trump is primarily in the building trades.

And you know it.

God bless them, put it all on the line, and sometimes they make it, sometimes they don’t.

Trump has never seen the kind of risks I've taken, and neither have you.

Bottom line, get off your high horse, and get on the Trump bandwagon, a place where every single American citizen with an ounce of sense and a craving for major positive change in our country, needs to be.

Your projection of a "high horse" suggests you think we should all fall to a lower level of conduct. No thank you. I aspire to a higher level of conduct, every day. And so should you, starting with honesty.

“Electing the best ‘smooth talker’ hasn’t worked out very well.”

You know, Trump as well as speaking a lot, lol, also speaks very well. He knows the English language inside out, and speaks it in his very individual, idiosyncratic way that people love. No one, and I mean no one, misunderstands or cannot comprehend what he is saying to us. He speaks at the “folks” level, to the common man on Main Street, joining IN with them rather than speaking down to them.

I’m sick of this “Trump isn’t a smooth talker” meme. In his own individual way, he speaks loudly and clearly, and yes smoothly. Perhaps too clearly as far as the RINOs, Dems, MSM, and elitist GOP establishment type talking heads are concerned, as Trump’s words are being heard loudly and clearly enough throughout the land by we the people.

I was listening to Rush today (as many of you were, I’m sure).

Love how he played part of the soundtrack of the two black ladies who have been making pro-Trump videos!

“If Trump and a construction firm agree in a contract that such and such work will be done for X, after the work is completed Trump will only pay a half of X. If you ask for the rest of the agreed on payment, his response is sue me.”

Proof please, and nothing anecdotal. Hard core proof. And plural examples of this please. Cough it up.

Haven’t worked for him, but plenty of my colleagues in my industry (NYC metropolitan area) have. One good friend of mine is owed $3,000,000 by Trump for roofing work three years ago, still fighting him for it. Trump’s deal is to drive the hard bargain after the work is complete. At that point the contractor has laid out the money for materials and labor, and needs the cash flow badly. He knows this and that’s when he goes in for the kill. Once thing I forgot to add, if you don’t accept his after the fact terms, he will not pay you the Half he is offering. A lot of guys just fold to keep the doors open. I have heard this story over and over again for the last 30 years when it comes to Trump. He is notorious for it in the New York area. The reason I have not worked for him is that my company’s trading area is strictly north and central New Jersey, not NYC or South Jersey (Atlantic City). Our paths have not crossed to be fair, but if they did I would decline, for the reasons given.

This is what they said about Sarah Palin’s speech at the Freedom Summit in Des Moines. Her speech was called “meandering” and “bizarre.” I understood every word she said and thought the criticism was an effort to steer Americans off the central problem in Washington DC: crony capitalism. We have an entire industry in DC that makes money from the buying and selling of favors. It is not about solving any of America problems.

Anyone who criticizes Trump is playing ball with the DC cartel. They are lining their pockets with our taxes and influence peddling, like der Hildebeast.

The last time I listened to Glenn Beck’s radio show, I thought is was “meandering” and “bizarre.” It was about having fun with his co-hosts, making jokes and what you would hear from adolescent kids. Glenn Beck has turned out to be a big disappointment. As The Donald would say, Glenn Beck is a loser.

You have described Beck perfectly. Methinks he is the pot calling the kettle black. Only thing is, I think he is hallucinating the kettle.
