Hillary’s lame e-mail excuse: The server did it
The New York Post ^ | August 14th, 2015 | By Jonah Goldberg

Posted on 08/14/2015 8:19:19 PM PDT by Mariner

It happened sooner than even the doomsayers predicted. The era of artificial intelligence is here. A computer has become self-aware, a moral agent responsible for its own actions.

This breakthrough didn’t happen in Silicon Valley or at MIT. It happened, of all places, in Chappaqua, NY. And the person responsible isn’t even a computer scientist, but a lawyer and politician: Hillary Clinton.

Clinton’s critics say a lot of things about her, but who would’ve believed she was Skynet’s mother?

A little background. Clinton was forced to turn over her “home-brewed” e-mail server to the FBI this week, along with a flash drive unlawfully stored at her lawyer’s office.

The server and the drive are tangible evidence of Clinton’s decision to circumvent laws and procedures designed to preserve government records and keep classified information secret.

She says she never knowingly sent classified information, but Clinton leaves out that the whole reason federal officials are barred from using private servers is that such systems are invisible to the classification process.

Her behavior indicates she thinks she'll get away with it.

Not this time lady...

Turning over a wiped server to the FBI is prima facie evidence of destruction of evidence.

"Turning over a wiped server to the FBI is prima facie evidence of destruction of evidence"

I don't think the server itself was under any court order or subpoena.

However, mens rea applies and therefore everything even remotely associated with potential crimes can be siezed under search warrant, and in the case of Govt Agencies, FBI Order.

She will get away with it. If the Justice Department wasn’t corrupt, things might be different. Nobody wants to piss off the next president, so she’s safe.

Nothing is ever her fault. She is pure as the driven snow. Great. Another narcissistic, commie scumbag.

Also handing the thumb drive to her lawyer is another seriously illegal act, given that it was already public knowledge that there was highly classified info on it at the time, which she was not authorized to distribute to him. That alone is a major felony.

Any good defense attorney would walk all over that in a sec. Gotta have evidence that there ever was anything on the server to begin with ... might have been used for a doorstop ... doubt is all that is needed to sway a jury.

I was going to joke that she called the server William Jefferson, but none of the clintons are moral or responsible. Therefore a self-aware Clinton server is the same.

That requires one to accept that the Obama Justice Department will bring charges against Clinton. I can not make that leap.

The question remains: When the discovery was made that Clinton had a private server in violation of government laws, why wasn’t the server seized as evidence immediately? I’m pretty sure there is no paragraph of the law which gives the violator a three month opportunity to wipe the server clean. Did someone high up in the enforcement branch issue a “Stand Down” order? If so, who? And why?

Three month? It’s much more than that. Closer to a year since it was a public story and some in the government probably knew about it well before that.
