Mexico "Getting House in Order" By Cracking Down on Border Security

Good news. While the Mexican government accuses Americans who want a wall, illegal alien criminals to be deported from U.S. cities and increased security along the southern border of being scared bigots, they're cracking down on Americans and other foreigners walking in an out of their country. From AP (bolding is mine):

Walking into Mexico at the nation's busiest border crossing with the United States is no longer an uninterrupted stroll for foreigners.
Pedestrians and motorists have generally entered Mexico unencumbered along the 1,954-mile border with the United States.
Now, pedestrians going to Tijuana from San Diego at the San Ysidro crossing must choose between a line for Mexicans who walk through unchecked, and a line for foreigners who must show a passport, fill out a form and - if staying more than a week - pay 322 pesos, or roughly $20, for a six-month permit.
Travelers have long followed similar protocol at Mexican airports, but the procedure marks a big change at land crossings that weren't designed to question everyone and fully enforce that nation's laws.
"This is about putting our house in order," said Rodulfo Figueroa, Mexico's top immigration official in Baja California which includes Tijuana.

"This is about getting our house in order." Imagine that.

Meanwhile, Democrats on Capitol Hill continue to refuse condemnation of sanctuary cities in the United States, which evade federal immigration law by openly housing violent criminal aliens, many of whom are from Mexico.

It was just last month when Mexican national Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, who had been deported five times, shot and killed 32-year-old Kate Steinle in San Francisco.

Hmmm...they’re REALLY worried that Trump might become President. Taking stops to erode his support. Too little, too late.

Can we start calling Mexico racist now?

Mexico called...said they wanted their criminals back.

Do I believe them? Why would they want the return of their criminals when we are the ones footing the bill for their criminal doings?

They're waving Mexicans through but stopping Americans.

Seems more like a slap to our face to me.

Foreigners, nothing. It’s the Meskins trying to make sure all those gangsters, rapists, and anchor moms they dumped on us don’t come back.

Good idea, Mexico. Make it difficult for visitors, who literally support your border towns, to enter Mexico. Really smart, Paco!

"a line for Mexicans who walk through unchecked"

A line that's going to see a sharp increase in usage in a year or so.

Except when a US Marine accidently gets in the wrong line and is put in Mexican prison for months.

Then Mexico was cracking down.

Selectively.

What we should do is build two border fences. The first, fifty miles inside Mexico. We’ll call the gap, “no man’s land, and anything in “no man’s land” gets strafed by arial drones.

Who knows, maybe by the time Trump/Cruz takes office, the illegal immigrants, gang bangers, free loaders, and their ilk will all be gone, and Mexico will have built their own fence.....

Nice work Trump/Cruz didn’t cost us a dime....

Went to Tijuana once, decades ago. Was astounded.
Immediately upon crossing border, went from clean, prosperous, thriving culture to third world hellhole of tin shacks and sewage running in the streets.
Climton gave is NAFTA and the third world hellhole has moved north.

Mexico needs American tourists and retirees more than Americans need their criminal aliens.

Advocates of amnesty and open borders in both parties seem to want noting more than a wholesale transformation of American society from prosperity to squalor. A squalid Third World culture provides cheap labor for establishment Republicans and cheap votes for Democrats.

I didn’t see in this piece posted. I read:

“...they’re cracking down on ***Americans and other foreigners*** walking in an out of their country.”

Kaslin, the author has mangled the message with her wording. People are scanning the title and first sentence and jumping to the conclusion that Mexico is taking back their criminals.

If the US passed an immigration law that mirrored the Mexican law, the rate of illegal immigration would drop because of the draconian penalties in the Mexican law for immigration violations—including overstaying visas or working without a permit.

Of course, the US would have to support the enforcement of the laws and have a President who would.

By the way, this may also be a response to Trump about Mexico paying for the fence. Of course, the number of US folks entering Mexico is much smaller that the reverse, but every little bit of tit for tat helps, no?

One underlying and unspoken reason for this is that the "ELITE" class is jealous of the plebeians enjoying the same sorts of luxuries once reserved only for their privileged class such a cars, boats, travel, air conditioned homes which they actually own, more than one suit of clothes, etc, etc. It galls them to their core.
