The Commissioner of Labor for Oklahoma, Mark Costello, was killed in a stabbing at a fast food restaurant in Oklahoma City on Sunday, local broadcasters reported, citing unnamed sources.
Police declined to confirm that Costello was the victim but said one family member stabbed another family member at least four times with a knife after the pair agreed to meet at the restaurant following a fight earlier in the day.
"So sorry to hear the tragic news about Mark Costello," Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett said in a Tweet.
Local broadcaster News 9, citing unnamed sources, reported that Costello was stabbed to death Sunday evening at a northwest Oklahoma City fast food restaurant.

His son is in custody.
Incredible. Tragic!
Rest in Peace, Mark Costello.
If you don’t like something a family member does, extricate yourself from the situation and remain apart. Violence in these situations is never the answer unless you’re defending yourself.
I’d rather live apart from my family than ever harm one of them.
Sometimes that’s what you have to do. Write them off.
You need to be able to respect yourself, and if you’re family won’t respect you, then you need to stay out of that toxic environment.
Gang related?
An assault knife?
I mean geeze!
Just how many times do you have tobstab someone
If you can’t cut it with with one jab, you don’t need a knife
I’m thinking the dad had denied the son something. Rage is relentless. And, rage can lure dads to burgers, even feign an apology, and then strike.
Eerie, shivers.
Could be a set-up, or they could have simply gotten heated on the spot. Whatever the case, the family will never be the same, and the guy who did it will regret it for the rest of his life.
Darn shame.
Up thread it was said to be his son who did it. The article claims their was a “family” argument earlier in the day and this evening the killing happened in a fast food restaurant in NW OKC.
The article says “a man” is in custody.
I understood that it was his son, and I didn’t mean to infer disbelief on that point.
It could be revealed that his son did plan on attacking. It was my thought that the family could have thought the issues from earlier in the day were resolved at least to the point of being civil to each other.
I’m not trying to make a point here other than several scenarios are possible.
Baseless speculation would be that the son was a druggie.
It was a fast food restaurant so the knife was probably one of those little white plastic ones...
Good advice.
We had some disagreements, even bickering in my family, but I can’t recall any one of us ever pulling a knife.
This is tragic.
Death by spork?
I see what you mean now. I’m cross eyed and thought you might have missed the comment about the son. Maybe there will be details soon. You’re sure correct about several possible scenarios, here.
Thanks.
It is tragic. The people who should be there for each other, and it comes to this.
It’s a real shame when the party in the wrong can’t man up, take ownership, and apologize.
Some issues aren’t easily resolved though. Oh well...
That’s okay RitaOK. I just wanted to make sure you realized I wasn’t trying to argue a point. Thanks for the note.
My parish priest is a friend of the family, and according to his e-mail asking for prayers, the son is indeed a druggie.

The son has major problems.
Yes, this kid does have serious issues.
Sounds like he fried his brain at some point.
I’m glad the mom survived. He could have gone after them both.
Tragic! Just a real shame.
You know, the other kids could be fine kids, productive and all. Sometimes one kids just wigs out. It’s not always the parent’s fault.
