United Nations Relief and Works Agency (for Palestine). Since their founding he UN handles refugees and arranges for resettlement through the High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR. Palestinian refugees are a special case, they have an agency devoted to them and only them. That was they can claim refugee status for future generations, UNHCR doesn’t do that, and pretty much any Arab who turns up at a camp. And, of course, to attempt to resettle all of them in Israel, maintaining refugee status for Palestinians generation after generation. Good politics for the Arabs, doesn’t much help actual refugees.

I am getting sick to death of the use of acronyms like everyone knows what the hell they refer to. Increasingly I am seeing it in news articles. RADAR and Scuba are fine and I’m getting use to LGBT being code for sodomites. I should not have to do research to find out what a journalist is writing about.
