I can’t boycott Harley - I wasn’t going into their dealerships any time soon, let alone buying another one of their ancient fourth-rate products. Had a 2000 Sportster, it was the worst bike I ever owned, couldn’t get shut of it fast enough after it started falling apart.

I have a 2001 Softail. It’s a nice bike.

My 1992 BMW is a much BETTER bike, but...

PS - Be warned, you might not want to trust my opinions regarding the qualities of various motorcycles because I freely admit to loving them all. If it has two wheels, and an engine w/gearbox, then I will find SOMETHING to love about it - even if it is a 1970s Ducati single or an early CZ dirt bike.

Bought an identical bike used in 1978. Put 80,000 miles on it and sold it in 85, running strong. All I replaced was tires, chain and sprockets, points and plugs.

It was falling apart? What did you do, start the engine?

I always figured if I ever got another one I’d tear it down to bolts and nuts and reassemble it using Loc-Tite :)
