You may think Obama’s to blame for Iran deal… but you’d be DEAD wrong

Obama Smug again

So let it be written, so let it be done. Such were the words of Pharaoh Ramses II, as portrayed by actor Yul Brynner in the epic film, “The Ten Commandments.”

Those words seem to apply now to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Iranian nuclear agreement. Democrats in the US Senate have placed their allegiance to President Obama over the nation, spitting in the eyes of our men and women in uniform who’ve been killed, maimed and scarred for life by the tools of war provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran. These senators have said to Amir Hekmati, Jason Reznian, Saeed Abedini and Robert Levinson that their lives truly do not matter when it comes to giving Obama what he wants. These senators have declared to our best ally in the Middle East, Israel, that we could care less about your existence and “never again” isn’t as important as an exhibit in the Obama presidential library. These senators have looked our children and grandchildren in the eye and, with Neville Chamberlain’ naiveté, placed their future in danger.

And they are still not satisfied.

As reported by USA Today:

Emboldened by growing Senate support for the Iran nuclear agreement, supporters of the deal are pushing to get 41 Democrats on board to prevent the Senate from voting on a resolution disapproving of the pact.

The action would prevent President Obama from having to veto the resolution Republican leaders are pushing.

As of Wednesday, Obama had secured the 34 votes needed to prevent the Senate from overriding his veto of a disapproval resolution. Supporters would like to avoid a veto battle altogether. There are 10 Democratic senators who have not announced whether they will support or oppose the pact with Iran. If at least seven of them join the 34 who have announced their support of the agreement, Republicans would fall short of the 60 votes they need to bring the resolution to the Senate floor.

The House is likely to pass the resolution of disapproval, so the Senate is key to the outcome.

“Republicans want to force the Iran deal to go through a lengthy, messy veto override process,” said Eden James, political director of Democracy for America, one of the liberal groups lobbying for approval of the Iran deal. “By dragging this fight out, they’re hoping they can embarrass the president and diminish his credibility overseas — all the while continuing their fear-mongering with the public at home.

James said activists would press the undecided Democratic senators to support Obama and “put a stop to the circus that pro-war Republicans are hoping to create around the Iran deal.

Jamal Abdi, executive director of the National Iranian American Council, which supports the nuclear agreement, said passage of a resolution of disapproval by the Senate could undermine the deal.

I think James is mistaken; Barack Obama has embarrassed himself and brought about his own diminished credibility globally. Hence, Russia and China are conducting military exercises in the Arctic.

And the Alinsky-like demonizing of opposition to this ill-conceived foreign policy folly as fear-mongering is just plain false; opposition to this folly is simply rooted in truth and reality. The liberal progressives labeling as “pro-war Republicans” those opposing the release of hundreds of billions of dollars to the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism is laughable. And what do you call Alan Dershowitz, who is also opposed with this “deal”?

So it’s not enough for the liberal left to have secured a veto position for the president; now they don’t even want the JCPOA to be voted upon at all — silly me, I thought that’s what President Obama said would happen. This is the height of lawlessness and disrespect of the American people. Iran is not being stopped from attaining a nuclear capability; they’re being enabled.

And just so you’re aware of what’s being said in Iran — on the same day Senator Barbara Mulkowski (D-Maryland) became the veto security vote number 34, read on.

As reported by Israel National News (Arutz Sheva):

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/200224

Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini, a senior commander in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was speaking to soldiers during a military drill in Tehran Wednesday.

“They (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine,” Kazzemeini said, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

He also indicated Iran would continue its military interventions in surrounding countries, including Syria, Iraq and Yemen, where Iranian proxies and special forces are deeply involved in bloody wars.

“We will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, specially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists,” Kazzemeini added.

He was speaking during a major drill involving some 250,000 Basij paramilitary fighters, as Iran’s leaders nervously prepare for the possibility of a military strike by Israel if the nuclear deal signed with western states be formally implemented.

What is sadly hilarious is my telling y’all what the Iranians are saying makes me a fear-monger — boy howdy, the progressive left is stuck on stupid. I suppose we should all just ignore the fact that Iran’s making arms deals and previewing new ballistic missiles and just admit everything’s cool.

Let’s not worry Obama’s cutting our active duty US Army by 40,000, while Iran was conducting a military drill with 250,000 paramilitary fighters. Or, no big deal that we have a US Marine Corps at World War I levels, while Russia is conducting military exercises in the Arctic with tens of thousands of troops. Yep, ol’ Neville Chamberlain said there would be “peace in our time” — that worked out REALLY well, huh?

And to hear Democrat Senator Casey of Pennsylvania state if the Iranians seem to be cheating, Obama will use a military option — I’m still laughing about that one. Does anyone believe Barack Obama, in his last months in office, will do anything against Iran?

First of all, thanks to John Kerry, we’re not even part of any inspection team and Iran’s allowed to inspect itself at the Parchin military facility. OK, I suppose it’s just empty rhetoric emanating from Iran, but think of this, we can’t even keep Iranian Quds Force Commander Qassem Suleimani from violating an international travel ban. We’ve reported here that Iran’s already stated UN resolutions do not apply. No problem, this is a GOOD DEAL!

Don’t ask me what Obama and Kerry are thinking — or any of their seemingly delusional acolytes. One thing is for certain: Obama and the Democrats NEVER intended for the JCPOA to be voted upon. And sadly, the senate GOP played right into their hands by not demanding this agreement be handled as a treaty. That would’ve meant Obama needed 67 votes in the Senate for ratification.

The House and Senate GOP are making a foolish pyrrhic plea stating that a majority in both chambers will vote to disapprove the resolution. However, if Obama has his way with the Senate, they’ll filibuster this and it won’t see the light of day.

And to think, Senate majority leader reversed Harry Reid’s imposed filibuster rule — how gentlemanly and nice? Who cares if Obama wins this with 34 votes in the Senate; he will have, again, outmaneuvered a majority GOP House and Senate. You can imagine that if this were a Republican president, there’s no way a Democrat-controlled House and Senate would acquiesce so easily.

Is the current anger against the political elite class any wonder? The progressive socialists of the Democrat party are doing exactly what we expect of them. The Republicans, given the largest Congressional majority since World War II, are not.

And the security of our republic hangs in the balance. That is not fear-mongering, as history has proven, it is the truth.

West has good commentary but he is wrong. In my opinion, the destruction of our country came down to one statement made by one person and the others response.

Obama: “My Muslim faith.”
George: “You mean your Christian faith.”

I hold George Stephanopolus responsible.

After much tutoring of Obama in Christianity by Rev. Wright ... Wright was asked. “Did you succeed in converting Obama to Christianity?”

Wright replied, “I’m not sure ....”

Can’t agree. Obama is the reason for this mess as well as all others.

Thanks for the info.

So it was really tens of thousands? That’s alarming, given how broke they (supposedly) are.

I don’t think Wright ever tried to convert anyone to Christianity, only to his distorted version of it.

It is a quote from a book/interview a few years back - I do not remember the title. Whatever version, the point is that Obama never convinced Wright that he was any sort of Christian, and may have remained a muslim.
