As tourist season winds down in Alaska, so does the sightseeing trip of Americas busiest tourist. The President heads back to the beltway bubble after three days in the wondrous Last Frontier.
While here, he enjoyed spectacular autumn weather which he commemorated with many selfies on a stick. He danced, he held a fish, he hiked a glacier (thankfully not the Mendenhal Glacier, for that chunk of ice is, literally, the size of Rhode Island. Instead, he enjoyed one of the other 100,000 Alaskan glaciers). And, he renamed a mountain our mountain the tallest peak on the North America continent.
Unlike most tourists, the President heads home now with his enormous fleet of transport vehicles ironically after plenty of finger pointing on this Global Warming tour. Astoundingly, with just this one trip, a bigger carbon footprint was created than what 33 cars combined would create in an entire year.
From his many entertaining Instagram pictures, it looks like he enjoyed his trip, thankfully! Hard not to in the ever-changing ebb and flow of Gods Northern grandeur that has evolved with natural cyclic phenomenons, like tides rising and falling, glaciers advancing and receding, trees growing and dying in this energy-rich land thats been reshaping itself since the beginning of time.
Residents here are thankful when far-away decision makers who control the vast majority of Alaskas land and resources give us the time of day; hopefully his was an impacting trip. Here are a few things he missed, though:

Denali served as Alaskas 9th Governor, the youngest and first woman governor of Americas largest state. Prior to serving as Governor she was Mayor and Manager of the states fastest growing community, then went on to regulate energy development as Chairman of Alaskas Oil & Gas Commission. Denalis husband, a Yupik Eskimo from Dillingham, is the four-time Iron Dog race champion, is a pilot, and worked for nearly two decades as an oil field production operator in Prudhoe Bay. The family owns and operates a commercial fishing business in Bristol Bay.
Drill Danali omg I crack myself up
Denali was the name assigned to Gov. Sarah Palin by the United States Secret Service during the 2008 campaign.”
That’s cool. Denali means “the great one”, so even the Secret Service had her pegged correctly.
That and Obama yelling global warming is gonna get ya.... as he orders more icebreakers
Thankfully not the Mendenhall Glacier?
Why is that? It has receded a huge amount since I moved into the area 18 years ago.
But did he get to sleep with an Eskimo?
I am still wondering when Presidents got the unilateral power to rename things
I guess she didn’t want POTUS getting lost on a huge chunk of ice.
How old is the lake that is in front of it?
[Americas busiest tourist]
Man, he must be racking up the free bonus miles.
Oh, that’s right - on the taxpayer’s dime.
More vacations! More golf! More lobster!
See, you gotta have your fudge on the bottom - that allows you to regulate your fudge distribution! /obscure Seinfeld
He doesn’t.
The secretary of interior does, when the board tasked with renaming natural features does not respond within a reasonable time.
It has been more than 40 years since the Alaskan congressional delegation has asked for this change.
up here, it is not a right vs. left argument. it has been an Alaskan delegation asking for this, held up solely because of the actions of the Ohio delegation.
You know what else Ubama didn't see in Alaska?
Chairman Change's P.L.A.N. Warship's OFF OUR OWN COASTS!
More everything!
Is this a kosher meal?
I am sure Ohioans are upset that the mountain is no longer named after their favorite son but Alaskans have been calling the it Denali for decades and natives for centuries.
Obama sure as hell didn’t see any Chinese Fleet while he was up there either...
Unlike, Hillary the "Hoggette", Huma the "Weiner" or Valerie the "V".
Alaska Ping!
He didn't see the Chinese Fleet up off Alaska's Coasts ether!
I don’t even know that that is!
