The Wisconsin governor who's known for taking on unions in his home state is holding the event Monday afternoon at XTreme Manufacturing.

He said he'll discuss his plan to transfer power from union bosses to taxpayers. He said the strategy includes preventing the government from deducting union dues from federal employees' paychecks.

Las Vegas is home to powerful labor groups, including the Culinary Union that represents some 55,000 casino workers.

I think it was because WI was a big manufacturing state. Lots of middle class workers worked for companies as tool & die makers, machinists, etc. We also lost the big breweries. I don’t think it was ACT 10 that lost us the middle class. ACT 10 was good for WI.

Walker needs to stay in WI and work on reasserting WI’s state rights and fight the federal government’s takeover. He needs to continue to lower taxes, fight to protect religious freedom in WI and make WI a better environment for business. He has done some positive things with planned parenthood. The state legislature is republican and is willing and ready to take on conservative issues. The answer to some of our problems lie with the states and Walker would be of more use to us here. Others are better able to do the job as POTUS.

There is a big risk in WI that the governor’s office will resort back to the dems. Walker could do much to keep the office of governor on the right side of the aisle. We cannot afford to lose states to the left.

Who brought up government unions. I’m puzzled.

Oh wait, my bad. Well the article headline just says “unions” but the story fills out the details.

Yes... public service unions are a pestilence, such a pestilence that even the big liberal FDR execrated the idea when he was perfectly delighted with private industry unions.

Who’d ever advocate for them on FR? That’s a mystery.

I believe in Right to Work Laws, that union membership should not be compulsory, nor should the right to collectively bargain be denied by the government. Beyond that, the power of the purse by Congress and the state legislatures should keep public sector unions in control on benefits and wages.

I don’t have personal experience with private sector unions, but if for example, the auto workers union makes the cost of their product more than the market can bear to pay because of exorbitant benefits and wages, they will eventually be bankrupt and fail. They should never be bailed out like Obama did GM. Taxpayers should never pay for their greed. Laws prohibiting bailouts would be fine with me. Then the market would dictate what wages and benefits should be, or else they will all lose their jobs when the plants close down. The governments job is to protect taxpayers, not make winners and losers.

Like I said Trumka union troll, be gone.

You guys are funny...

The town I live in has a number of car dealerships...Toyota GMC, Chevy, all the Japanes brands, Dodge/Chrysler...All owned by the same person with the same name on all the dealerships...Think you can get a good deal on a car???

Same thing with the gas stations/convenience stores...On the main street leaving town, the first three stations are owned by the same company...The next station is about 18 miles down the road...That one too is owned by the same person...

Going North at the first exit about 14 miles is a little town of about 2500...Two stations...This same person owns those as well...Across the bridge is another town...One station...Same owner...Six miles North, little town with one station owned by the same owner...And that covers about half the stations this person owns in the area...And of course, that owner controls the gas prices in our area which are always about 15 cents per gallon higher than other areas around here...

When the price of gas increases, every station within 30 miles goes up exactly the same amount at the same time...That's because of the gas retailer's union...You have landlord's unions called associations which agree to keep rental prices pretty similar for the same types of properties...It's in everything you touch...

Why is it you guys never complain about the number of vehicles taxpayers have to buy for the local governments??? You never complain about the 40 plus billion given to our enemies in foreign aid...

Seems some of you live just for the opportunity to cut the wages of blue collar workers...You don't like having a middle class...

I don’t pay union dues, but if I did, under that scenario I would have an auto deduct from my bank account. I just don’t see how this solves any of the country’s problems.

Because at least 3/4 of the union members will NOT voluntarily continue to pay "dues" which stops the transfer of wealth into the Left's money and muscle machine.

you are just full of leftist workers party marxist rants. I don’t know WTF you are doing on this site frankly. To compare a car dealer with multiple lines in the same town to a bunch of socialist union goons is pathetic. And don’t give me that in my town crap - you can buy a car, or a boat, or anything, anywhere, with the internet.

You believe the middle class happens because of Marxism. I know that the opposite is true.

So tell me, on what basis are you under the delusion that you are a conservative of any kind? Your rhetoric is right out of Huffington Post or DU.

You started off okay there - then you swerved and your inner liberal reflexes kicked in and you spouted out Marxist workers of the world unite crap. There is NO RIGHT to work for Government and there is NO RIGHT to collectively bargain against the very tax payers who pay you. Your blindness on this issue is indicative of something you probably are not aware of, or will not admit. You are an economic liberal in many ways. You go straight to CPA talking points.

You have now been outed as economic liberal.

Indeed - and not only did FDR think they were an abomination, so did George Meany, the legendary AFL CIO labor leader. Apparently this post hilariously called "conservativejoy" is LEFT OF FDR and the AFL CIO on public unions! WTF she's doing on FR - is indeed a mystery.

if you will note, Iscool is not only pro union, he, or she, is resentful and against people who build up their business and buy multiple locations or franchises. He is even more of a socialist leftist than conservativejoy.

No idea why they think FR is for them.

I worked for a federal agency and we operated not on tax dollars, but on the revenue generated by the service we provided. We were not in the Congressional budget.

I was a manager and not a union employee, but I am the first to acknowledge the need for unions to protect employees from abusive and unsafe working conditions. I don’t know that unions would be needed in other government agencies, because I don’t know how those agencies are set up or how they operate.

I’m sure Your Pompousness will insist that position is liberal, but frankly, you don’t have the authority to define anyone but yourself. Although, no doubt, you will continue to proclaim otherwise.

That you are ignorant of the fact that you’re a liberal doesn’t change the fact that you are a liberal. Truth does not require validation from the ignorant among us.

Your union positions are liberal - leftist - not because I say it is- but because they are. Conservatism means certain things, and government unions are NOT among them. Just isn’t.

NO, but I know what liberalism is and what conservatism is, and on unions, you are liberal. Period. The union movement is ALMOST 100% Democrat, 100% liberal, 100% Marxist.

Denial is not a river in Egypt, it’s you on unions. Damn, reality must suck for you.

Right out of the Communist Manifesto.......and like a good union troll liberal, you don't mention anything about protecting the tax payers from corrupt and inefficient unions or employers from stealing theiving cheating employees.

Just admit it. You're a Marxist.
