Scott Walker to propose abolishing unions for federal workers - ABOLISH NLRB
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ^ | September 14, 2015 | Patrick Marley

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to focus Monday on weakening labor by proposing to abolish unions for federal workers, create a national "right-to-work law" and eliminate the National Labor Relations Board.

At a Las Vegas manufacturer, he also plans to call for requiring all unions to hold periodic votes so workers can decide whether they should continue to exist, according to his campaign. He will also cancel President Barack Obama's Labor Day order that federal contractors provide paid sick leave and work to end policies requiring some salaried workers to receive overtime—saying in some cases they should get time off instead.

"It's time to address the problems with collective bargaining in public service rather than tinker around the edges. As president, I will work with Congress to eliminate big-government,federal unions on behalf of the American taxpayer."

..In 2011, just weeks after he became governor, Walker proposed all but eliminating collective bargaining for most public workers in Wisconsin. That sparked massive protests and prompted Senate Democrats to leave the state for three weeks in an attempt to block the legislation.

Walker and Republican lawmakers overcame that opposition and put the measure now known as Act 10 into law. Their opponents tried to recall Walker from office, but he survived the effort, becoming the first governor in American history to win a recall election..

At construction equipment maker Xtreme Manufacturing in Las Vegas, Walker also plans to propose:

Ending the ability of unions to require government workers in some states to pay fees to unions.

Banning the federal government from withholding union fees from workers' paychecks if they go toward political activities.

Barring caps that would prevent employees from being rewarded for exceptional work..

Establishing protections for union whistleblowers to protect them from retaliation.

A wall wouldn’t stop lawless government. A wall is an empty symbol.

Right now the laws are on the books that would have saved her life, but lawless government aided and abetted by tax money paid to union goons paid to Democrats who grow lawless government still will exist, they’ll just ignore the enforcement.

Trump is the elite, Chris37. He’s totally unproven and has made a bunch of promises. What good is a promise? Don’t get fooled again. Go with a proven winner - Scott Walker.

FYI

Illegals are walking across the border because the laws are not enforced, magnets aren’t removed and the border isn’t policed.

I have a niece who has been in an assisted living facility for 15 years (soon to have been on a feeding tube 1/2 of her life); the drunk illegal (previously arrested for DWI many times) fled the traffic accident, was tracked down, tried, sentenced to 7 years and then deported.

What you do think he did when he got back to Mexico?

I’d bet money he’s back here.

Ah, I get it now. Thanks for the clarification.

You’re describing the problem inaccurately. Eliminate government unions and end sovereign immunity. I agree that government is managed by idiots, but the solution is a shrinking government and ending unionism in government is the first step to solving the problem.

Central planning by definition is an idiot’s policy.

Don’t ignore these worker protections Walker is proposing as well. He’s done this in Wisconsin already. He cares about worker’s rights and individual rights, not collective ones.

Walker also plans to propose:

Ending the ability of unions to require government workers in some states to pay fees to unions.

Banning the federal government from withholding union fees from workers’ paychecks if they go toward political activities.

Barring caps that would prevent employees from being rewarded for exceptional work..

Establishing protections for union whistleblowers to protect them from retaliation.

A wall will stop invading illegal aliens who kill our citizens.

And totally unproven is far better than the proven liars of the GOP.

I don’t believe anything that comes out of them.

You can’t ban unions for govt employees - freedom of association is in the constitution - I think what Gov Walker meant was ban “striking” of govt workers - which is something that FDR himself said should not be allowed.

The Great Wall of China stopped no invaders because of government corruption. The Great Wall of America will also fail because of corruption. So you’ve got that right.

Who will build the wall? Unions? Who will enforce the law? Until we shrink government we will not stop its lawlessness.

Walker’s not a liar. He’s the one candidate in the race who has actually stopped the union/Democrat/government conspiracy to keep you poor and stupid. Capisce?

Members dues may not go directly to pols, however, PAC $ certainly does. And 92% of that $ goes to Demwits.

I will build it, and I will man it.

Scott Walker didn’t stop the government conspiracy to replace the population of America with 3rd world dependents.

That the conspiracy I’m concerned with, because that one is succeeding. I am neither poor or stupid.

They are also walking across the border BECAUSE THERE IS NO WALL THERE.

A wall is fine where it will work (there are hundreds of miles of wall already, between 607 and 1000), but without enforcement of laws, magnet removal and true policing of the border, they tunnel under, climb over and fly over, and they're waved by at official crossings where there is a wall, or not be sent back when they've made it in illegally (even after committing crimes).

And it's important to acknowledge the VAST numbers who "overstay" their travel and student visa and just stay.

Right. That money to influence federal employment will flow to them with or without unions. The PACs are completely voluntary donations. At union meetings folks are asked to give to them. Most of the money in unions goes toward operating expenses.

To your point.

Scott Walker took office (1st term) Jan 2011 by June 2011, instate tuition for illegals was revoked. Walker is the only gov who has done this [I believe 18 other states still give illegals instate tuition].

Know a man by his deeds, not by his words.

I don’t think that you and I have the same type of wall in mind.

The pitiful sections of wall that currently exist need to come down and be replaced with an actual wall.

I really don’t see any point in discussing this with you, you come across as a complete GOPE drone.

I’m sorry that you believe their lies. What a pity.

All I can tell you is that your candidate and your party aren’t selling anything that I’m interested in buying.

Cool.

When he starts talking about how he’s going to stop and reverse the illegal alien invasion of America, then maybe I’ll listen.

Until such time, I’m not listening.

Are you a card carrying union member?

No. I carry a card that says "Scott Walker is a doofus." Love the policy, but after his disastrous flip-flopping of the birthright citizenship issue, his "positions" don't mean much anymore. Why do you carry water for this guy? Last cycle you backed Perry, another doofus. I thought you supported Cruz, a solid Texas conservative. So why all these Walker posts?

I don’t think you’ve thought this through.

Let’s get rid of the EPA first because they will stop a wall in it’s tracks, tie it up for decades with studies and worries about water flow and animal migration and the loss of habitat for this or that.

You need to stop getting angry at people who are telling you the truth, instead of believing what charlatans are spouting because they know it is what you want to hear.
