Determining Miss America is a serious matter. We need a true all-around woman to hold the title. She needs to have a talent. She needs to look good in various clothing. And she wouldn't be able to do ... whatever it is Miss America does if she wasn't able to answer questions about current events in a cogent, confident, smiley and inoffensive manner.
In Sunday night's Miss America competition, the contestants were asked questions about the issues of the day: gun control, Planned Parenthood, Donald Trump's presidential campaign and ... DeflateGate?
Yes, Miss Georgia -- aka Betty Cantrell -- was asked if Tom Brady cheated. We just spent, like, seven months debating that, and she had to answer it with no preparation whatsoever! And it's done in 20 seconds. So much quicker than the NFL's arbitration process!
Her answer:
Did he cheat? Um, that's a really good question! I'm not sure. I think I'd have to be there to see the ball, and feel it to make sure it was deflated or not deflated. But if there was question there, then yes, I think he cheated. If there were any question to be had, I think that he definitely cheated, and he should've been suspended for that. That's not fair.

God bless this girl. They must have crowned her for intelligence and honesty. This is not sarcasm.

Miss America contestant says Tom Brady 'definitely cheated,' immediately crowned Miss America Didn't Nixon say, "If you lose Miss America, you lose America?" I read that on the internet so it must be true..

Beauty & gracious femininity should be the qualifications, not half-baked opinions, that must embarrass one's kin, if later reduced to print.
The Feminist influence in a beauty contest is really indefensible.

Unbelievable....absolutely no evidence...but she knows....definitely, too. Probably hasn’t read a newspaper in a month.

I thought all the questions were dumb. Just polarizing, I mean, why?

Caitlin Upton
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
As part of a question and answer portion of the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant, Upton was asked by the questioner, this:
"Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans cant locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"
Upton responded:
I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation dont have maps and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future [for our children].[8][9]

Given her age, she has probably never read a newspaper and relies on Twitter and Facebook for ‘facts’.

She got thru the entire answer without using: "you know", "like" and "actually". She only used "really" one time.
That has to be worth some points.

Very disappointed in the turn that the Miss America Pageant has taken. When I was growing up, every little girl wanted to BE Miss America. Some of the comments from the contestants were vulgar double entendres, Miss Wisconsin actually saying ‘come to Wisconsin and smell our dairy air'?? I know that stuff was written for them, but they should have a bit of class at least, and say no to the embarrassing stuff. We watched up to about the middle of the ‘swimsuit stroll’. All I was thinking was ‘so the Miss America Pageant has become nothing but an implants and little boy bodies (ignoring all the implants) strut’. Sad, but goes along with the degradation of our culture.

stupid questionAnd if she started out with: "That's a stupid question, so I'm giving you a stupid answer,..." it would've been very cool. Instead she comes across as a woman so reliant on her beauty that nobody even cares if she spews words for the Idiocracy.
There are women who are beautiful, accomplished and intelligent. I thought Miss America was supposed to be a quest to find such impressive women.

Given her age, she has probably never read a newspaper and relies on Twitter and Facebook for 'facts'.Her main interests are probably the latest Hollywood gossip, what new clothes to buy, and what day to go get her nails done.
