Don't you care what your neighbors think? Your neighbors have a right to be protected as citizens of the United States by the government of the United States. You and a few of your friends can't choose for them? You can't cancel their citizenship. Attack your neighbors at your own risk.

Most people (the rest of us) are proud to be Americans and proud of our right to complain about what what we don't like about the country we love. That's one of the reasons that we value our US citizenship.

A few people hate the United States, but even they have to admit that they are free to leave. Some do. Some pretend. It's the "My life is a mess and it's everyone else's fault" group that gets a bit tiresome.

Geez, if I hated this country, I would leave.

The republic is dead in you. Go away.

But, isn’t that what Washington, et al. did when declaring independence from England? Declare everyone in America to be citizens of America?
