Barry was legally adopted by Lolo Soetoro of Indonesia who was legally married to Barry’s mama, Stanley Ann. Barry’s religion was identified as ‘Muslim’ on the records of the Catholic school he attended in Indonesia until his mama sent him back to Hawaii to live with Gram and Gramps. Stanley Ann had to have agreed to her son being identified as a muslim and did not appreciate Lolo’s fondness of the American capitalist oil folks that he worked wit, so she dumped him.
