This Could Be America’s Iron Lady (Fiorina = Thatcher?)
American Spectator ^ | 9/23/15 | Aaron Goldstein

For more than 25 years, Republicans have been looking for the next Ronald Reagan. After last week’s debate at the Reagan Library, Republicans might have instead found our Margaret Thatcher.

Consider what syndicated columnist Cal Thomas wrote about Fiorina in a profile of her back in April:

Fiorina is impressive. Whether she can win the nomination, or perhaps the number two spot (which she refuses to talk about) we’ll know soon enough. But watch her in the coming debates and see if you don’t notice a little Margaret Thatcher in her. Like Thatcher, Fiorina is tough and smart.

Thomas’s words proved to be prophetic. Carly Fiorina stood out on that debate stage much like Thatcher stood out among Britain’s Tories when she wrested the leadership of the Conservative Party from Edward Heath forty years ago. In so doing, she proved that her performance at last month’s GOP under-card debate was no fluke. She put the Republican Party and America on notice by turning in a performance that was assertive, bold, and confident.

We still revere Margaret Thatcher.

I wonder if that other one will even be remembered in January.

No. Fiorina might make a decent cleaning lady for Trump’s executive offices though.

“Fiorina might make a decent cleaning lady for Trump’s executive offices though.”

I don’t think Trump would trust her not to steal anything.

What’s her track record?

1. Accounting fraud at Lucent
2. Destroying HP, collecting $40+ million golden parachute
3. Losing to Barbara Boxer in a landslide
4. Praising Islam after 9/11
5. Amnesty Pimp for Illegals

Horse squeeze.

The only thing Margaret Thatcher and Carly Fiorina have in common is lady parts. They are both female human beings.

That’s where the similarity ends.

Seriously I REALLY dislike her, in fact something makes me want to slap her.

I agree! No matter how much she tries, Carly is not likeable. As long as she seeks public positions, I'll scream from the rooftops about her lousy business sense! She ruined many livelihoods with her horrid acquisitions!

The closest we had to Thatcher was Jeane Kirkpatrick. Had she ever been the nominee....I wouldn't have hesitated to vote for her.

Fiorino...she's a good example of Peter's principle...and what can go wrong if you go beyond your ladder.

I'm actually betting she switches to the Dem party in the future.

Fiorina as Thatcher? About as apt as Obama as Reagan. Or Francis as JPII. Laughable.

“Anybody but Trump” is the strategy of the GOPe. If he wins the nomination they will collude with the Rats to ensure his defeat in the election.

The GOPe is terrified of a Trump presidency. Beyond their immediate loss of control of the party, many of them fear a Trump Justice Dept. might issue them a few indictments.

Yep, my guess is McCain, Graham and a few others will eventually switch to the Democratic party.

Aside from the fact that Thatcher was a conservative and Fiorina is a liberal, great comparison!
