Congressman Randy Weber Endorses Cruz For President

HOUSTON, Texas — Today, the Cruz for President campaign announced the endorsement of Texas Congressman Randy Weber. Originally a small business owner, the second-term Congressman has been a strong conservative voice in Congress for fiscal discipline, national security, and protecting life. Weber won election in 2012 for the seat previously held by Ron Paul.

“We have an impressive field for the 2016 elections, but we need a President who will march into the White House on Day One with their conservative values in one hand and the Constitution in the other. I believe Ted Cruz is the candidate who will do just that. It is for this reason that I offer my endorsement, and look forward to the march towards new leadership in the White House.”

“I am honored to have Randy’s endorsement,” said Cruz. “He is one of several new leaders we have in Congress that will stand up for conservative principles every time. I look forward to having his help as we move forward in our campaign to restore the promise of America.”

Congressman Weber joins fellow Texas Congressmen Louie Gohmert, Michael Burgess, John Culberson, John Ratcliffe, and Brian Babin endorsing Ted Cruz.

Sorry providing welfare for billionaires, H-1B visas, is not a conservative value. Cruz wants to increase H-1b visas.

Ted Cruz's reasoning on this subject is consistent with Conservative principles.

Watch the video. Ted Cruz talked about his father coming here with a student visa. After graduating, he started up a company and created jobs in this country.

Do you want a tide that will lift all the boats in an economic boom, including your job? Or, do you want to protect your job and have the whole country go down the tube? Our K-12 education system is sub-par. We need qualified students for STEM graduate programs in order to create new innovations and expand our economic pie for everybody.

Sen. Cruz Presents Measure to Strengthen, Improve Legal Immigration

Offers amendment to increase H-1B visas to help improve, retain high-skilled labor force

May 14, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation's legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation's high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation's heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I'm disappointed in the committee's vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight's bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”

Sen. Cruz's amendment would:

Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.

Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing “dual intent.”

Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.

Cruz wants to increase H-1b visas.

Yes, you've posted that many times; we know that's what you and others are pushing as a negative against Cruz.

I ask you to reconsider the notion of Ted Cruz as President of the United States, though. He beats out Rubio, Boosh, Huckabee, Carson, Fiorina and the rest, IMO, as far as Constitutional conservative qualifications and personal proven abilities are concerned.

I hope you have found the “perfect” candidate because I sure haven’t.

There is always going to be something we don’t like or some failing or mistake. What I look for is the candidate whose values and ideals are most closely in sync with mine. For me, it’s Ted Cruz. Not perfect, but a helluva lot better than the sorry bunch we’ve been presented with for at least the last two presidential elections — maybe longer.

Good luck to you and your candidate.

You can try to defend the indefensible H-1B corporate welfare program.. Cruz wants to increase it, my God.

When I am unemployed that will be a great comfort.

I like Trump, his website lays out his stance on immigration. He is not perfect but way better than Cruz.

I see; it’s Trump. That’s fine by me. He’s Cruz’ bulldozer through the garbage heap of the media.

Then that's great. God bless you and Trump.

But please don't get snarky with those of us who like Ted Cruz.

Your goal seems to be to debase Ted Cruz for your candidate, which could be Bernie Sanders.

Additionally, more H-1B workers mean more jobs for American workers – according to a study by the American Enterprise Institute, for every additional 100 H-1B workers, 183 jobs are created for U.S. citizens.

Problem is, this study that said this is bogus. They took only a slice of years from the 2000s up to right before the economic crash. If they included later years, none of this mythical H1-B-created job growth would've been found. Likewise, they show absolutely no cause-and-effect between H-1Bs and other job growth. They merely show that companies were still hiring Americans at the same time they were hiring H-1Bs...which would mean that if H-1Bs were higher then, all those jobs might've gone to them instead of Americans, making the "study" show very different results.

Cruz is nuts about legal immigration which is destroying the USA just as fast as the illegal kind.
