State Department says classified material on Hillary's home-brew server was so sensitive that the safe it gave her lawyer to store the emails wasn't secure enough

The State Department has told Senate investigators that it didn't provide Hillary Rodham Clinton's lawyer with a secure-enough method to read now-highly classified material from her homebrew email server because it didn't anticipate that the messages would be deemed so secret.

In July, State Department officials installed a safe at the office of attorney David Kendall after the government determined some of Clinton's emails may have contained classified information.

But it said last week the safe wasn't suitable for so-called top secret, sensitive compartmented information, known as TS/SCI, which the government has said was found in some messages.

Assistant Secretary of State Julia Frifield wrote to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley on Sept. 22 that 'while the safe was suitable for up to [top secret] information, it was not approved for TS/SCI material' because the material wasn't held in a facility set up for discussing highly secret information, known as a SCIF, or sensitive compartmented information facility.

Yep, and she should never have gotten that high a clearance level to start with IMO.

SCIF construction, where TS/SCI is kept, is a rigid process of RF/EMI shielding according to NSA Tempest specifications, physical construction/protection, alarming, entry/exit control and a plethora of other things. It is a very involved process to get one established as a recognized SCIF.

The idea that the information was ever ‘secure’ on her home server OR in the lawyer’s offices is absurd.

It boggles the mind to think of all the harm that woman caused to our information collection methods and systems, our allies and our agents by cooking up her own private "system".

We will probably never know how many systems and networks were compromised or people were harmed, maybe killed because of lack of security.

I wonder if the attack at Benghazi was just one effect of the enemy reading her mail.

.....safe it gave her lawyer to store the emails wasn’t secure enough.

Anyone who believes this is an idiot. A safe to store emails? There’s a new twist. How about putting her private unsecured email server in the safe and then it would be secure? IDIOTS.

Still covering for her...”now-highly classified material”.

Wasn’t classified at all when she or her underlings put it there.

My theory? If she followed those protocols the SCIF would have had to have been @ State (which they probably have) or she would have had to build one on the premises at Chapaqua. She would have been tied to those locations she didn't want that. I am not sure the protocols of her receiving TS/SCI info while on the road if you will let's say on State visit to France. A safe in the aircraft? I don't know, nor do I want too, the point is she was too freakin' lazy to comply and or have the personnel to assist in that compliance especially if they were military or retired military, the Clinton's can't stand them or their adherence to rules...

FWIW the compliance in the Financial arena is so stiff post Sarbanes Oxley / Dodd Frank she couldn't make it as a nubie wet behind the ears Stock-Broker, The Compliance Department would gig her, and her sorry @$$ would be fired. Funny thing is she supports both pieces of legislation...

The notion that a more secure safe would safeguard the secrets is patently absurd. The material was stolen from her server en masses by our enemies or as it transited the myriad servers and routers comprising SMTP mail systems. Talk about closing the barn door long after the horse has bolted.

She and her husband should go down in infamy.

Human and Mills will most likely be the ones who go to jail. I doubt Hillary will go to jail, but I can’t see her winning the White House after this.

Electronic transmission of that sort of data is very rigorously engineered according to a whole other set of cryptographic, Tempest, facility, access et al requirements. Unless you are the President or Cabinet Level, there really isn't a means to get this data in a "mobile" fashion other than through Embassies or government facilities local to the area, specially equipped aircraft systems, or couriers or the like.

Her whole server deal was engineered to hide information from her political enemies - and probably the administration too about what she was doing with that foundation. She didn't even care enough to assure her minions at State knew how to handle and process classified material.

She is a complete liar in most everything she says, and now she's finally embarked to her last defense: "I didn't do anything that you can prove I touched, signed, ordered or condoned. I dindu nuffin' - prove it."

What level of clearance did/does David Kendall have?

Handing Kendall the digitized data may have been a violation of the law.

Does anyone know what Hillary's explanation for why she handed over printed copies rather than a digitized copy?

It is not just the level of clearance, if any, but whether to person gaining access to TS info had a “need to know”.

“The State Department has told Senate investigators that it didn't provide Hillary Rodham Clinton's lawyer with a secure-enough method to read now-highly classified material from her homebrew email server because it didn't anticipate that the messages would be deemed so secret.”......

It is more than OBVIOUS, Clinton had to have known that numerous documents were of a classified nature and above, having done NOTHING to remove or eliminate them from her computer systems, she is definitely GUILTY of a crime. If these same documents are as sensitive as described, there is but one recourse. Charge her with said crimes and move the process along and stop waisting even more money trying to prove something we already know to be fact.

When or when will the charges come forth and get on with putting her fat behind in jail?
