If this is about Keystone XL, Hillary will counter with elimination of the Cadillac Tax on health plans, and some ridiculous NLRB proposals.

The problem with the Teamsters, and other large unions, is that they don’t stay bought.

Maybe the unions are realizing that when a business goes offshore, so do the jobs. No jobs, no union dues every month.

All those years in NYC Trump knows what it means to have a ‘sit down’, and how to forge a win-win situation.

The others like Rubio, Kasich and Yeb are rank amateurs who will simply promise the world; promises the union bosses know they can’t deliver.

Seems to me that a union endorsement would lock it up for Trump.

As I some others have posted here on FR in the last 45-60 days, Donald Trump has massive appeal to the Blue Dog/Yellow Dog Democrats, just like Ronald Reagan did. (That is NOT in any way to be construed as my saying Trump is "Reaganesque.")

If Trump holds his lead through to January and continues to make inroads with the Blue Dog/Yellow Dog Democrats and the Unions, Trump will be unstoppable.

Have to admit, running an un-conventional campaign as he is and taking his message directly to the voters as Trump is doing makes him far smarter than the political pundits have given him credit for.

While I still don't have a horse in this race, Trump is alot of fun to watch. He's certainly anti-establishment and he speaks his mind unfiltered. I really do like that about him. His voice is so desperately needed in America today.

Didn’t the Air Traffic Controllers union support Reagan?

They should meet with others. I think John Kasich might be worth a look from them, Rand Paul has shown a willingness to work with people, Marco Rubio perhaps also-there’s four right there.”

********************************************************

Ok boys (unions) you might as well stay with shillary...your all a bunch of losers....

Sorry, I worked under a Union, they take your dues, they spend your money, they tell you who to vote for, and to vote on this bill or that bill...stay with the boys on top, or stay with shillary...all of you are a waste of time...

Oh and don't give me the ‘we can get jobs if we have unions’ crap...been there, done that...

I am keeping my powder dry on Trump for one very big reason. I was in Californina when the Gray Davis recall happened and voters were outraged. That outrage elevated the “Govenator” into office as the “anti-Gray” candidate and the California Republican Party has still not recovered from his ineptitude.

They'll never abandon Democrats as soon as Hillary Bernie announces the next ‘Stimulus’ bill.

Trump must not offer the unions anything. Keep them guessing. As someone else said, go over the union bosses’ heads to the rank and file.

He will be the unions’ best friend in the WH. Where’s his stance on RTW, Bacon-Davis, and ending government unions?

ISIS knows the Ruskies play by different rules:

In October 1985 Alpha Group was tasked with a counter-terrorism hostage-rescue operation in Beirut Lebanon. Four Russian diplomats had been kidnapped there by a fundamentalist Islamic group which called itself the Islamic Liberation Organization, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. It has been speculated that this hostage-taking was revenge for Russia's support of Syria which was engaged in the shelling of Islamist militants in the Lebanese city of Tripoli. They threatened to kill the hostages one at a time unless the Soviets pressured it's ally in Damascus to put a stop to attacks on the militants in Tripoli.

When Alpha arrived on the ground they found that one of the four hostages had already been shot in the head and left in a trash dump. Alpha Group quickly responded by doing something which sent a very clear and unambiguous message to those hostage-takers. Through their knowledge of who the hostage-takers were they tracked down and located one of their kinsmen and proceeded to castrate him and then send on the dismembered body parts to the hostage-takers! But not only that, with that they also sent a note indicating they knew some other relatives of the hostage-takers who could also be hurt in similar ways. Seeing how serious the Russians were the hostage-takers promptly released these hostages -- dropping them off near the Soviet Embassy. No more Russians were taken hostage in Lebanon for another twenty years as a result of the Alpha Groups ruthlessness when it came with dealing with those people.

Way back in 1972, the Teamsters endorsed Nixon over McGovern. They had enough sense to realize that the socialized America which McGovern advocated wouldn't create the jobs their members needed.

I believe they also withheld an endorsement of Mondale over Reagan in 1984.

So far as I know, this is the only time a major union either endorsed the GOP candidate or withheld an endorsement for a Democrat.

I know some smaller unions have done so on some occasions, but these are the only examples of a large union which I can recall. Anybody else?

I cannot picture rank and file union members, blue collar 40 hour week six pack drinking United States citizens buying what Bernie the Commie has to sell.

Lying weasel rats are one thing, especially when they have their hand out behind their backs, but blatant in your face communists....not so much.

Well, the Teamsters are usually 18 wheel truckers, and truckers are those guys who drive those trucks with confederate flags on them. I don’t see them supporting Hillary, even if the Union backed her. Then there are those Mexican truckers, I’m sure Hillary can forget about the Teamsters. She has the NEA and SIEU in her pocket and maybe the AFL CIO. Being a member of a Union doesn’t guarantee a vote for the Dems, my parents, both union members crossed party lines when it came to the election. They voted for who ever they felt was most qualified to represent them, regardless if they had a D R or I in front of their name.
