Russia to meet with Oil Producers to address the low price of oil.

Over the weekend, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced that Moscow is ready to meet with both OPEC and other oil producers to address the low price of oil.

For the first time in nearly 11 months, geopolitics is likely to give support to higher crude, and oil prices saw a new push.

Ever since OPEC decided last Thanksgiving to defend market share rather than price, crude has been in a swoon. That has had a major negative impact on countries relying upon the sale of oil to balance their central budgets. All producing countries have been affected as oil declined from the triple digits to around $40 a barrel.

And even U.S. producers have taken it on the chin. The American scene may be accentuated by huge new reserves of shale and tight oil, but these are more expensive to extract, requiring an average price of well above $70-75 a barrel.

But since last year’s OPEC decision, little has been done on a geopolitical scale to correct oil prices. So why has Russia just cried uncle?

Here’s my take on why Russia’s planning to meet with OPEC… and what the outcome will be…

A little side benefit after ISIS takes it on the nose (which is a good thing).

And all those places that want to add more tax to gasoline? Well, get ready for the price increase.

I was told once gas in the U.S. is back close to 5 bucks a gallon, our economy will be going gang busters.

Russia has a crap load of resources but they are blocked in effective to market access like Pipelines etc.

So yes you are right, they are part of the Equation and provide the “muscle” to keep teams in the League in line...

Terrorism is bad for business unless they need a “boost” in revenue and then something is heated up and fed to create doubt, which moves the markets and if you are in position you play it up and down...

Russia will emerge as a key Energy player from all of this and I think Putin knows this is his path...

Watch and See...

I don’t believe the Saudis are ready to cut production. I see them in this for the very long term. They still have lots of cash reserves and have been positioning finances to extend this current spending over revenues for far longer.

I don’t believe the Russians, even if they say they will cut, actually would ever intentionally cut production.

Tough luck Putin but the Arabs might pretend to agree with you but their purpose( and VERY well done) was to drive the $80-100/b producers out of the market. That includes the Rooskies.

Terrorism is bad for business

From Russia's point of view, Terrorism in the Middle East only hurts their supply and helps bump up the price of oil that they sell.

Just today, the price of oil rose 5.30%.

And a major ETF — (RUSL) — that tracks the oil-based Russian economy rose 7.30%.

So in a matter of days, Vladimir Putin has restored the Russian economy — something that Barack Obama hasn’t been able to do for the U.S. economy in seven years.

Russia is going to issue terms of surrender. Stop pumping, let the price go up, or we are going to be eating shwarmas off of burned out Saudi tanks in Riyahd.

This whole thing, the whole time, has been about getting the price of oil back above $100/BBL.

What in the world could the Russians possibly bring to the table when discussing the reduction of oil production with Saudi Arabia?

How about this, if Saudi Arabia will cut oil production and cause oil prices to rise, Russia will not assist Iran in an invasion of your country and seizure of your oil fields?

“This whole thing, the whole time, has been about getting the price of oil back above $100/BBL.”

If the price of oil hits $80/bbl, many idle U.S. producers start drilling and fracking again, driving the price back down.

Russia and all the players HAVE the resources...

With the US effectively neutered and out of the picture at the moment, Russia fills the vaccum and assumes a strong, long lasting and probably permanent warm weather port in that region from which they can exert influence

Good thing about the Russians, they do not care for Mooselimbs as they know at the end of the day The Apple falls ONLY under the Tree

“Water Futures...”

Interesting... Just this morning I saw on the local news that Governor Ducey of Arizona was going to Israel to discuss “water issues.” I thought that curious. Maybe you are on to something. Perhaps I can get in on the ground floor.

The Russkies out of Syria, along with Iran, might just make the Saudi’s an “offer they can’t refuse.” WTF would the US do about it right now?

I have often been described as a futurist or visionary, just how God made me is all I am...

The REAL water that is being fought over long term is in Africa, Libya to be exact...

Currently locked down safely with morons keeping it until the rest of the pieces are in place...

The area under Libya primarily was “made” to hold vast reservoirs of deep fresh water reserves. Way back it was covered by an ancient sea or ocean to the south.

In a tangential but not too much way the whole Global Warming “crisi” is exactly backwards from what they are saying

Science 101

Plants breathe Carbon Dioxide in

They emit - Oxygen, which humans and all life forms require to live

Increased temperatures are nothing more than natural changes the Earth has undergone since it was first formed. More Co2 is good for plants, makes it greener...

Greener and more “rain” means replenished fresh water stocks, above and hopefully below ground as well. All of this posh about the planet being covered are nonsensical fear mongering...

As long as we are swallowing they are spooning it in, Low info folks just want something done no matter what

Helpless

Change the rules and they will adapt, nature of the beast. Or, they will pass on...

For the mean time sit on your funds, Libya is still a Huge play and it is multiple pf multiple more valuable and plentiful than oil

it ain’t close
