Louis DeChiaro of US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) on Replicating Pons and Fleischmann

Thanks to Adrian Ashfield for sharing this information with me who tells me this information comes from the research notes of Louis F. DeChiaro, Ph.D, a physicist with the US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Dahlgren Warfare Center. I am told this text has been cleared for public dissemination.

As for duplicating the Pons and Fleischmann results, we now have a much better understanding of the phenomenon, and the list of prerequisite conditions is rather lengthy. Failure to meet even one of those conditions results in zero excess energy output. The data suggest that there may be more than one initiation mechanism, so I’m most qualified to comment upon what is known as the atomic vibrational LENR initiation mechanism (because my formal background is in Condensed Matter Physics).

I was just thinking....
An Iridium case with Pu238 has a half-life of 88 years and will reach a temp of about 800 deg.

Simpler than “Cold Fusion” and actually generates serious heat.

They could go there to expedite sand conservation efforts, after oil is no longer needed as an energy source. If they are as successful as their efforts to produce jobs, the Sahara will turn green again.

This is the first credible thing I have read about LENR. It claims reproducibility consistent with theory. If this is legit, we are about to usher in a new era in human history. Once the engineers get their teeth into these preconditions, things will move faster than anyone can imagine.

It seems like it has been a few years since I last saw a post on cold fusion.

Looks to me like a credible source of corroboration. Exciting!

I recall watching ABC news lead story about Pons/Fleischman the day it broke. Everyone thought a new era in mankind had arrived.

Then....nothing.

"Is KEVMO gone?"

Yes. He ran afoul of JimRob over a topic unrelated to LENR and "was departed".

"It seems like it has been a few years since I last saw a post on cold fusion."

Only because "wattsgnu" published in the "News/Activism" section of FR. Kevmo (and I) typically posted in the "Smoky Backroom" area, due to the constant flame-wars that resulted on the subject.

No. I am not Kevmo. I am an electrical engineer/ power supply designer and also an interest in Physics and Chemistry and Space. The promise of fusion has always been interesting to me, but I have not delved into LENR that much, but maybe I will now!

FReeper Thackney reminded me yesterday that there is still research and tax payer money being thrown at hot fusion. I actually thought it had been abandoned and was not paying any attention to it. Very little progress with billions down that rat hole.

Genesis 11:5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
