Vietnam II?Well, the US government (the Congress of the United States) threw away the US Serviceman's win in Vietnam by refusing to resupply the South Vietnamese military with ammunition, weapons and fuel.

So this is (again) the US and Russia live testing weapons against each other with Syrians as the fodder. A war that isn’t a war. Even if there is a few “accidents” where some Russians and/or Americans get killed. It’s better than millions dying in a real war.
Done this before.
