On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin remarked that, instead of funding Syrian rebels, the U.S. should have just given the money to Russia. The U.S. halted its training program after many rebels defected and U.S. weapons landed in the hands of al-Qaeda.
“It would have been better to give us $500 million,” quipped Putin. “At least we would have used it more effectively from the point of view of fighting international terrorism.”
Al-Qaeda kidnapped or killed multiple New Syrian Force fighters, which left American weapons in their hands. The Pentagon also provided vehicles and ammunition to Nusra Front, a radical Islamic group linked to al-Qaeda, for safe passage, but officials quickly lost track of the items.
Putin said Russias campaign in Syria is more effective than the U.S.-led coalition. He insisted his governments actions are legal and reasonable because it followed a Syrian request for assistance.

Well, he is a gangster statesman. So why not extort protection money?
A lot of Freepers would second this motion. The Putin fan club is very active here.
It would have been put to better use, it seems..........................
Sad, but true.
Things are being revealed - things we suspected anyway
the White hut is echoing with the grinding of teeth
I wish like hell I could respect America’s president as much as Russia’s. Bummer.
I think the Russians are just emptying their old arsenals of obsolete bombs and such, so they can get their new stuff on line more quickly.....................
I share your sorrow that so-called conservatives are now a Mafioso’s fanboys.
The world is craving “leadership” and we’ve now come to the point where bottom feeders such as Putin and Trump are looked upon as filling that task.
I wouldn’t call us fans more so that in each instance he speaks truth. This bozo of a pResident has fumbled through more foreign policy blunders than Jimmy Carter and Clintoon combined.
So one must ask, how was equipping radicals only to find the very weapons provided in the hands of the enemy working out for you?
Five hundred million dollars were used to train FIVE ‘resistance’ people... it was a total colossal failure. Five people. NOT five hundred... but five. Five men were trained ... and the cost was 500 million dollars. We are so lame we're a joke in that part of the world.
Until Obama's out of office it's gonna be that way... when Obama acts history shows we and our friends are hurt and our enemies emboldened.
Horrible.
It's less than 400 days until he's gone... pray for a Republican President strong enough to deal with the world realistically. If we had given the five hundred million to Putin and asked him to earmark it for bombing ISIS he would have done it... and we'd all be better off.
So, one man who created, manages and runs a successful corporation and speaks truth and the other showing strength through action (irrespective of whether you or I agree or his personal gains) takes the lead in squashing what Obama refuses to do are both bottom feeders?
Can you explain the reasoning behind suggesting that Donald Trump is the moral equivalent of Putin?
Sorry, the US Government prefers to fund Islamic terrorist jihadis, European HomoFascistia pedophiles, NWO uber rich ruling elitists, Planned Parenthood baby organ harvesting, Liberal Socialist climate fraud, Negro mob rule, and Christian extermination.
But feel free to take it from those groups.
Putin speaks the truth more often than my President.
You have to respect a leader that puts his own country’s best interest first instead of one that puts every other countries best interest ahead of his own. I guess we are longing for an American president that will act like an American!!!
ok
So because he’s anti-Obama (supposedly) we’re supposed to like him?
I enjoy him speaking, really I do, but his past liberal love affairs in politics make me label him as untrustworthy.
He’s not and I never said he was.
I called him a bottom-feeder.
