Woodward and Bernstein were stenographers. They were played by Mark Felt (Deep Throat), who was hacked off a Nixon for not giving him the head of the FBI after J. Edgar Hoover died. Slimy and overrated.
True, I remember those days well. I was a college student at the time.
Bernstein made a name for himself only because of what he did with Watergate. If there had been no Watergate, Bernstein would have no name recognition at all. And Woodward is the same.
