They are after it being designated a “contested site”. They do not actually want it, they just want the issue. So they can incite and encourage their troops to kill more Jews.

I agree.... If they had it they would just blow it up like they have done to other religious sites...

They are doing it because Netanyahu won't stop Jewish visitors to the mosque from praying at the mosque, or punishing those that do pray at the mosque. It is illegal for Jews to pray there, and the Muz see that as an increment that ultimately ends with the mosque being replaced by a temple.

This why the French govt wants to send "observers" to the mosque.
