I have long maintained that Democrats can spread a lie better and faster than Republicans can tell the truth. The Benghazi Select Committee Hearings proved my thesis.
A few salient points were made. For example, Rep. Jim Jordan unearthed an email from Clinton to daughter Chelsea, penned while the violence still raged, describing the attack as perpetrated by an “Al-Qaeda-like group,” and a next day conversation with the Egyptian Prime Minister admitting “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest.” All the while, Clinton was telling the world and the victims’ relatives an anti Islamic video was to blame.
Unfortunately, crucial truths remain undisclosed or so botched by the Committee it was worthless to raise them. I know these truths because I have long represented former Tripoli DCM Greg Hicks, whose May 2013 House testimony was quoted extensively throughout the hearing. Three truths not revealed:

There were more than three truths not revealed and it was not a Clinton questioning. It was to give Hillary a free 11 hour campaign session.
Here’s what happened vis a vie Benghazi.
Security was lax in Libya because Obama was claiming Al Qaeda was on the run and increased security would undermine this argument. This was working out OK and then “Boom” Benghazi happened.
Panic at the White House ensued not because four Americans were losing their lives but, because Obama’s Election Mantra was being undermined. They quickly decided to send no help in order to avoid a military spectacle. This meant letting all the Americans fend for themselves with four eventually dying. Oh well.
Publicly Obama and Hillary stated the CIA reported to them a crowd of people were protesting a video. The records show Obama and Hillary barely spoke that night and nothing that night and would they? It was just a video protest, after all.
12 hours later they then said the protest turned way more violent then they could have possibly anticipated. They then promised to get the video maker. We know the rest after that.
Letting those men die and then lying about the video was no big deal for Obama. That man is a psychopath. I truly believe that.
I am no Hillary fan. I want to state that clearly but, based on her physical look and attitude weeks and months after the attack, I really think the ‘big lie’ they told took its toll on her mentally, physically, and spiritually. She’s a ruthless politician, don’t get me wrong but, I believe Ambassador Stevens was truly a friend of hers and turning her back on his pleas for help put her into a ‘dark’ place and basically seriously messed with her mind.
One thing is clear. She hates President Obama almost as much as we do and even more for being forced to abandon her friend to save Obama’s Presidency.
I can’t prove what I wrote but, dammit!!! I know that’s how it went down....or something very close to that
Enter the bumbling congress, disinterested public, and the bias media.
Now, her emails are all gone. There is no record of communication between her and the Ambassador. None at all. and, we are not supposed to find that damning? There is smoke everywhere and no one in the press is looking for the smoking gun. The press doesn’t care because the press is ‘owned.’ I also think many in the Press are scared of Obama. He’ll expose their affairs, their money troubles, their financial problems, their past drug problems, or whatever skeletons they have in their closet. He’s got records on all of them and makes sure they all know it.
I’m certain he has dirt on Justice Roberts!!!
We live in a very corrupt country and President Obama is probably the most ruthless politician ever to be President.
It’s just sad.

Hillary's far worse than Obama. If she was worried after Benghazi, it was over getting caught, over yet another screwup, and the possibility that she would be Obama's fall guy. But it was not over the killing of Stevens. Hillary has no friends - everyone is a tool to her, and dispensable.

Lying comes second nature to Hillary. Her only problem with the "big lie" about Benghazi was that she was doing it for Obama -- her political enemy.
Benghazi took no toll on her -- mentally, physically or spiritually -- it just pissed her off.

I don’t think Gowdy is inept or stupid. For whatever reason they chose to not go certain places in the questioning and it sucks.

People who know too much have never been safe around the Clintons.

Wow I think you nailed it spot on, all the way through, Including something on Roberts... Hell Im sure NSA has some sort of dirt whether true or made up, on all the Republican politicians that could not simply be bought with $$.
I would like to add, Libya was really almost a perfect example of the success of the Bush Doctrine... when Obama took office. Remember, Khadaffi had given up wmd aspirations and handed over all sorts of nasty stuff he was not supposed to have, immediately after we went into Iraq and took out Saddam, he turned over a whole new leaf real fast.

Actually point #1 was covered long ago. Point #2 was addressed in this latest hearing and Hillary laughably said that the consulate in Benghazi was not a consulate. Point #3 would have been a good counterpoint to her response to #2 but, again, it was brought out long ago.
This is not the end of the committee and they weren’t giving summations or findings so it’s hardly a revelation that they didn’t go over old material while questioning a witness.
Like F&F it will peter out and go down the memory hole with no justice, no accountability and no resolution.

The next foot to drop is revelations about the Clinton Foundation influence peddling scheme. Then we will have the complete picture of der Hildebeast. It is my theory that Obama knew of Hillary’s influence peddling money racket and threatened to use it against her if she strayed off the official propaganda program for his reelection. This was political blackmail. Of course, der Hildebeast had enough information on Obama to blackmail him. It was a virtual political standoff. I am hoping that the FBI investigation of the emails will tip the apple cart and have both Hillary and Obama sprawled out completely undone.

Benghazi is in western Libya where the 2011 uprising began. Benghazi was defacto capital of western Libya and home to assorted business interests including organized criminal groups smuggling African immigrants into Europe. When Ghaddafi began cracking down of these gangs, at the request of the EU, the revolt began. The “rebels” also began negotiating with BP and French oil companies to take control of the oil fields in the west. This drew the British and French components of NATO into the fracas. Hillary and Sid Blumenthal—representing a shadowy business group—were in the middle of this whole operation with the intent of enriching themselves and their cronies. Hillary’s mission was to effect regime change in Libya. This is part of what the White House and State Department have been trying to hide for three years.
