Fell Charter teachers to work without pay SARAH SCINTO, STAFF WRITER Published: October 27, 2015 SIMPSON — Teachers at Fell Charter Elementary School will work without pay to keep the school open as the state budget impasse continues to take a toll on public education.

The Fell Charter Board of Education voted Monday night to move forward with a plan that closes the school on Fridays, dismisses students early on Monday through Thursday and delays paychecks to teachers until a state budget passes. The plan will take effect Nov. 2 “if the budget funds are not released” to Fell Charter School, according to the motion that passed unanimously. ...

After the meeting, Fell Charter administration assistant Jillian Jezuit sat in the school’s front office, chatting with parents as they left. A whiteboard hung by the door with a message to Gov. Tom Wolf: “In this school we do second chances. We apologize. We forgive. We respect each other. We keep our promises. We never give up. We encourage one another. We laugh. We belong. We are family.”

Seems to me they are a selective target.

The Teachers Unions got Wolf elected specifically to kill charter schools.

So are the traditional public school teachers going without pay?

Right now public school districts are running on reserve funds.

When those run out in a couple of weeks or months there will be PANIC PANIC PANIC as unscheduled school holidays take place and Mommy suddenly has to stay home from work.

Wolf is counting on this manufactured crisis to cram-down his menu of new taxes.

You may be more right than you know. Seems very odd Wolfe would reject the ENTIRE budget, and keep $$ out of his biggest supporters pocket, teachers union. Unless it is to outlast Charter schools, which public school district administrators loathe.
My Dad, my Dad’s family, grew up in this small coal town in NE PA. It’s a very nice school that surprisingly has a lot of students for such an economically depressed area. Spent many years of my earl life running around Simpson. It was a great place to grow up. Just buried my Dad there 2 years ago. Kudos to the teachers!!! Huge raspberry to Wolfe, who won’t be satisfied until we are all taxed higher in PA. PA congress better hold tough—others are..

Tommy the Commie wants to raise taxes to enrich the teachers unions, run off the grass drillers, shut down the oil business and make the unemployment rate rise. He is in lockstep with Obama.
