The next thing the Stupid Government will find out is that when the fine goes up, the number of tax payers filing will go down. Mark that down.

When Obamacare started, my ex's insurance that I was on was canceled the very next day.

There is no other option for me. I have the Obamacare Bronze plan, the least expensive. Deductible is $6,500.

Where’s the outrage? Citizens opposed 0bamaCrap before it was shoved down our throat. How bad do things have to get before there’s a deafening roar for its repeal? In the meantime we can only hope this monstrosity collapses from its flawed design.

With a deductible of $6500, you basically have to spend $541 a month before any insurance coverage kicks in and that does not include how much you're out-of-pocket is for your monthly premiums.

Basically, you don't have any health insurance. What you have is an expensive financial burden mandated on you by the Tyrant-in-Chief.

I don’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. The least expensive policy I found for myself was $587/mo with a $6798 deductible and a $50 copay for office visits. While meeting that deductible I will still have to pay all out-of-pocket expenses PLUS that premium amount? I can’t do it.

I am well aware of that, thank you.

I am a healthy person. One annual gyno visit, one mammogram, and one endocrinologist appointment is the only medical treatment I have all year long. And I certainly don't have $6K sitting around to meet that deductible if something catastrophic happens.

How hard is it to opt out of this stupid noninsurance anyway?

I didn't mean to imply your weren't aware of your own situation. I was only stating the obvious to emphasize that Obamacare is nothing more than a redistribution scam to take wealth from folks like yourself.

To answer your question, I am probably not the best person to ask. I am a veteran and use the VA and medicare. But since you asked, it is probably cheaper, since the "insurance" doesn't pay for your visits now anyway, to just pay the penalty (oops, tax). Since you are healthy, you'd be taking your chances on the catastrophic coverage but most catastrophic illnesses or trauma result in bankruptcy anyway, insurance or no insurance.

The liberals have screwed the medical insurance industry up so badly with this ineffective, unaffordable law that most people are in the same boat as you are. It is a shame. Every time the government gets their hands on something they think needs fixing, they just make it worse.

This entire mess has many people angered.

They aren't angered enough to do anything.

We should be surrounding their buildings and daring them to come out!
