Nature, the Universe, whatever, always seeks balance. From areas of different temperature and air pressure causing weather until balance is restored, to overcrowding and disease killing people until a more sustainable population is restored, to overwhelming and murderous immigration killing people until order is restored to lunatic political policies destroying a society until reason is restored. This is just the latest example. The pendulum swings. We live in interesting times after an atypical 60 years of prosperity.

You have hit upon something important right there. The last 60 years have been atypical. But unthinking people, and unthinking nations, have instead made the assumption that the good times will (and must) last forever. So no need for any course adjustments.

The ancient Romans had that same attitude. Then one day the Goths appeared, in force, at the gates of Rome.

Actually, it's been 200 years of atypical prosperity and self-government. Fossil fuels freed the serfs from manual labor while the elite was free to pursue science & art, and guns allowed those same people to seize government and force it to act in the commoner's behalf.

All coming to an end; so history repeats itself once more. Tell me once again, what happened to Neanderthals when the Sapiens arrived? Or for that matter, N American Indians or the mega fauna they killed over 10k years ago when they first arrived? Diversity is never tolerated in a natural environment - it takes constant propaganda and surplus resources devoted to denying & hiding the truth to keep impulses under check.

It's interesting to observe what is occurring, because of the clueless citizenry doesn't wake up soon, it's no use siding with them. They neither deserve self-governance or any form of support if they're going to simply throw the game/set/match away.
