I don’t think that the candidates will agree to very much. What a candidate wants from debates depends upon his/her relative position in the polls. They’ll come up with something, but I doubt that it will mean much.

Only three of the candidates matter, the rest are chum. Trump, Carson and Cruz are in no mood.

I am going to bet that Cruz does not want events to be as predictable as Trump and Carson wants things to be. Cruz still needs to shake things up at some point. Trump and Carson might just want smooth sailing until it’s time to vote.
