Several months ago I dropped my iPhone 6 plus. I was walking on a cement surface. The surface was a driveway that had been molded to appear like slat. It was uneven and I’d call it abrasive. It wasn’t smooth.
The iPhone hit the cement from a height of about three feet, and as luck would have it, it hit face down. Worse yet, it hit with enough momentum to slide on the face for ten to twelve feet.
When I was able to pick it up, I expected to see a shattered face or at the very least, a very scratched screen needing to be replaced at once.
That screen had almost no damage whatsoever. I forget that I even did it for long periods of time. Once in a while when it’s off the screen will catch the light just so, and you’ll note a couple of hair-line scratches. When on, you can’t find them. When off, it’s hard to find them even then.
This article and your comment brought it to mind. These news screens are incredible.
