Traffic stop leads to murder investigation in Lee’s Summit
LEE’S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -
Police are investigating a woman’s murder after her body was found in the passenger seat of a vehicle following a traffic stop.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Tanya L. Chamberlain of Lee’s Summit.
Police attempted to stop a vehicle about 1:15 a.m. for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Southeast Second Street.
Two men then fled on foot from the vehicle. The officer engaged in a short foot pursuit before losing sight of both suspects.
