You might think this would be great news for all those scientists who have been warning us over the last few years about the impending horrors of “man-made global warming†but in fact they are not happy about it, not one bit.
Here for example is Dr Jay Zwally, the lead author of this week’s surprising Nasa study that confirms that the Antarctic is gaining far more ice than it is losing.
“I know some of the climate deniers will jump on this and say this means we don’t have to worry as much as some people have been making out. It should not take away from the concern about climate warming.â€
Does that sound to you like a neutral scientific opinion? Do you sense any relief at the good news that the climate apocalypse of melting ice caps and rising sea levels may not be quite so imminent after all? No, me neither.
Rather it reminds me of the disappointment of Harold Camping, the notorious American evangelist who solemnly warned his listeners that the world was going to end on September 6, 1994.
When that didn’t happen he decided Judgment Day had been postponed to May 21, 2011, and subsequently to October 21 of the same year. Still the world survived and Camping (and the poor fools who believed him) was left with egg all over his face.
Just like all those climate doomsayers who have been making such a big deal of our supposedly disappearing polar ice caps. If the climate alarmists weren’t such a devious bunch I would almost feel sorry for them.

When lies don’t work - make it a LAW!
Seems they are going to rely more and more on rising sea levels for the “proof” they need, now that temps and ice measurements appear to not support them. This is something I haven’t been following too closely. Are sea levels really rising? Some of the media reports claim that there is “bi-partisan consensus” on this.

I see from your plot that there must have been a lot of SUVs that our ancestors were driving around in about 8000-14000 years ago.
Nobody denies that climate change is real, that it is in the process of changing right now, and that it has an effect on how humanity deals with its effects.
But the big movers of climate change, the escape of internal heat from the interior of a cooling planet with a molten core, and the daily irradiation of this small speck of cosmic debris circling a vast solar furnace, are of course not considered by the “Scientists” that claim there is one, and only one, source of any climate change - the presence of humanity.
Humanity that builds cities, and burns stored energy in the form of coal, petroleum, and natural gas in huge quantities, subjecting the ecological systems now in existence to extreme stress, overburdening the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, and polluting the surface waters of the planet with biological poisons and unreduced waste.
News flash - the cycles of climate change proceed along the same path these cycles always have, ever since there became enough free oxygen in the atmosphere to sustain life on dry land. And when first there appeared living organisms on dry land, the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere was VASTLY greater than it is today.
But through the magic of photosynthesis, the ingredients of water and carbon dioxide are combined to form various forms of carbohydrates and - free molecular oxygen.
Oxygen is a substance that cannot exist in a free state for very long, as it is one of the most chemically active (corrosive, even) elements in the universe, combining back into some kind of oxide form almost as quickly as the other elements become exposed to it. The rate of oxidation may be considerably slower for some elements than others, but unless the photosynthesis is interrupted altogether, oxygen is continuously regenerated.
Yes, climate change exists. But not for the reasons “explained” to us by these phony and superciliously self-righteous “scientists”. Because they know not of which the speak, their “solutions” are as phony and specious as their original theories.
If it keeps getting warmer, the next thing you know people will be raising cattle in Greenland.

Google the phrase “Cryosphere Today” and it will call up a website that monitors global sea-ice levels, and separately for the northern and southern hemispheres. The current level is slightly below the mean level from 1979-present. For much of the last three years it was ABOVE the mean. Sea-ice level is not the same as ocean level, but it is related.

The significant thing about the Gore quote is that no one in the MSM will ever bring it up. But they still bring up the so-called Palin quote about seeing Russia from her porch, which she never said.

Right, the climate of earth has never been stagnant. The climate is changing and always will change. The solution, as if humans can control the climate is global government control and National surrender to a global government. It is a pig in a poke. It is oppression and deadly.
