Obamacare is dead
National Review ^ | 11/4/2015 | Kevin Williamson

Posted on 11/05/2015 3:59:11 PM PST by GilGil

the so-called Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has failed. The grand vision of an efficient pseudo-market in health insurance under enlightened federal management — the heart of Obamacare — is not coming to pass. Obamacare, meaning the operating model that undergirded the law that Congress passed and President Barack Obama signed with great fanfare — is dead, and it will not be revived. What remains is fitful chaos.

I wonder how many thousands of people died because Obamacare so totally screwed up their access to doctors. I know of one woman who was undergoing cancer treatments and Obamacare took that away from her and she died.

She along with Obamacare is dead.

I also wonder what happens to all the taxes now being levied for Obamacare. Are they dead? Will they die? Or will they conveniently continue to be levied so the politicians can continue to line their pockets.

Obamacare has badly hurt tens of thousands if not millions of people. It has killed some of them but the politicians in Washington seem pretty ok with an allowable casualty rate of citizens for the sake of their respective parties. I never thought I'd be involved in a political process where the politics are perfectly ok with killing off its citizens which is what this law (Obamacare) has come down to.

Yet I’m still paying 3X more per month for my policy than I was pre-ACA.

And as an added bonus, CONGRESS is EXEMPT from this stupidity.

People die because DC no longer concerns themselves with it.

They are worried about lining their pockets. That is most important.

Completely agree, it has hurt my household in the wallet and through unavailable care. Everyone associated with this including those in DC who did not try to stop it should swing from a tree. Also the MSM which covers none of this.

Until it becomes something the employer has a right to refuse, it’s still alive. Too many employers have needed to slice hours into part time to avoid this insurance requirement. Thanks for nothing Judge John Roberts!!
We are stuck with Zombied ObamaCare.

Nope. Not dead. ObamaCare is still out there costing taxpayers a fortune, ruining the health care industry, and making sure people can’t get health care. In what world is that dead?

Dead? No.

It’s not yet ushered in the next phase of healthcare destruction: single payer.

My insurance paying for Obamacare has destroyed over one third of my income which I had planned to save for retirement. Obamacare is a way to destroy wealth and force people to depend upon the government. January my insurance will be over $1200 per month which has destroyed my retirement planning. I am middle class income that has to haul water for deadbeats that don't have to pay a dime for their healthcare.

Great article. The only mystery is why more GOP candidates aren’t running on the issue, front and center.

Obamacare is merely a field goal...the touchdown prize is single payer - by design, all along.

obongocare isn’t going anywhere. No matter what a disaster it is, no matter how expensive it is, it is the first step to socialized medicine. Judges and Congressmen will be bought off and threatened, this idiotic law is as permanent as the grand canyon as long as a democrat controls the federal bureaucracy.

You're not alone. No doubt many FReepers have stories about how Barry's socialized medicine has harmed them.

As are federal employees and federal retirees.

That is a very good question.

Ocare has destroyed so many people’s lives, I am not sure why. Could it be that Republicans or democrats all want Ocare to stay for the sake of power? I think that is the answer.

The only one who wants to get rid of it that I know of is Trump.

Everyone is saying that Trump if he becomes president will never be able to do anything about Ocare. The first thing I would do if I were Trump as president is to sign an executive order making all federal employees subject to Ocare immediately.

I sense Ocare would change within weeks.
