Even a majority of Democrats support boots on the ground according to this poll. I would not be bold in positing that the candidate who comes out firmly for a Blitzkrieg into Eastern Syria/Western Iraq will be the next President of the United States.
He could start by bombing them. I don't even think he's trying to do that.
