completely agree with your post.

One niggling thing tho’: Both men are Type A personalities .
Each is highly skilled whether it be a scholarly knowledge of the Constituion and all the workings or one as a unique private citizen who is publicly trying to whip our country back into shape .

Both men dearly love their country, too.

My question would be to the audience here on FR- if The Donald chose Ted Cruz as his running mate as VP would it not change the face of the VP?

History shows us there are many VP’s who actually do little or do nothing.

I don’t think Ted falls into a do-little/do nothing category but would he be willing to accept , if offered,
the VP job?

just throwing this out here for your opinion.

Yup. If Trump stays on top the whole way and gets the nod, he’d be very wise to team up with Cruz. They’d make an unbeatable team both during the election and in the White House. Working together and with a Republican congress, they could very well start rolling back some of the unconstitutional crap and make America great again. And then Cruz would be in the catbird seat for the presidency eight years later.

My 2 cents:
I always thought that Vice President meant someone who would qualify to be President in case something happens that he be needed. This would seem to require that the VP be presidential material, and as highly qualified. Lately it seems that in this backwards political world we have created, a President wants a VP that will assume the boot-licking stance, follow meekly, and do nothing. It would be wonderful to have a VP, for a change, who is "presidential", and active, and ready to step in if needed, and ready to carry on after the President's 2 terms are ended. Imagine if Trump had 8 years to clean up the worst of the mess, and then Cruz had 8 more years to carry through with it.

I recall an article describing the Bush-Cheney partnership as king and prime minister. The official duties are few so the president has some latitude as to how he may want to use his veep. So, YES, a vice president Cruz could be something different.

*************

Yes, but.........

I don’t think Cruz will be VP. The race will be decided in a select few states, probably
less than 10 and most likely the VP will be chosen as someone who could help win some of
those states. Secondly, a VP is often closeted or limited in his role/activities and I
don’t see Cruz wanting to be in that situation. JMO.
