This came up on a thread earlier this AM. Technically, the Tsarnovs were not refugees. They came here on tourists visas, then asked for and were granted asylum. The only difference between "refugee" and "asylum" is that a refugee files his request from outside the US, but someone who is granted asylum is already in the US. The conditions are about the same.

It's important that both asylum and refugee be scrutinized and monitored, or better yet, not be allowed to be in the US.

Plus the violence committed by the terrorists inspired “lone wolf” are not listed as terrorism because they had no direct contract ordering them to do that specific act.

At the same time, let’s be sure to know the difference between an immigrant and a refugee. A difference few in Congress seem to grasp. And while we’re educating the ignorant, the difference between a legal immigrant and an illegal alien...
