Disgusting. What Ted Cruz calls the "washington cartel" is still very much in business. Sure they can "get things done" by screwing the taxpayers and borrowing even more from the Chinese.

House Transportation Committee Chairman Bill Shuster,
A crony-capitalist porkbarrel appropriator from WAY back. Inherited the seat from his dad who was dubbed Mr. Highway for his prowess in doing this very thing.

I think this now a done deal. They passed this crap back in November and it went to the Senate where McConnell made sure it survived. Then he and Paul Ryan appointed conference committee members who were rubber stamps. So I think this is it and the cronies will get their money.

Look at the love in Ryan’s eyes. He must think he’s looking at his role model.

This is going to make it very, very difficult to explain to all of the Bernie voters out there exactly WHY the government can’t forgive all their student loans.

or, American business prevails and can compete on the global market with other companies having strong government support. Government support does not enable American companies to compete. It excuses them temporarily from the need to modernize and cut costs. It actually weakens them relative to their foreign competitors.

Did any reasonable person have any doubt?
Remember, Mitch McConnell said he would not allow the EXIM Bank to be voted on if it was a stand-alone bill. I guess they solved that problem by Ryan attaching it to the Highway bill.
So much for representative government.
