Islamist students try to disrupt talk on blasphemy at Goldsmiths University (UK)

Protesters from the Goldsmiths University Islamic Society have heckled and aggressively disrupted a talk from ex-Muslim and feminist campaigner Maryam Namazie.

Ms Namazie was giving a speech on blasphemy and apostasy at the invitation of the Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society at Goldsmiths University when several men from the Goldsmiths Islamic Society (ISOC) arrived and started disrupting the event.

The night before the event the president of the Islamic Society wrote to the ASH society saying "we feel extremely uncomfortable by the fact that you have invited Maryam Namazie. As you very well probably know, she is renowned for being Islamophobic, and very controversial."

The Islamic Society claimed that Namazie's attendance on campus was a violation of their "safe space".

They added, "we advise you to reconsider your event tomorrow."

Regardless of this the event went ahead, but protesters from the Islamic Society stormed into the room shortly after the talk started and began disrupting the event.

Ms Namazie said that "After my talk began, ISOC 'brothers' started coming into the room, repeatedly banging the door, falling on the floor, heckling me, playing on their phones, shouting out, and creating a climate of intimidation in order to try and prevent me from speaking."

The hecklers were asked repeatedly to be quiet and told by organisers that there would be an opportunity to ask questions or make comments at the end. The Muslim hecklers repeatedly interrupted the early part of the talk, shouting "safe space" and laughing.

This shows how much the left hates 'Western Civilization' - They go to bed with Islam, and this is what they get

I think this is fantastic. Let the Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society at Goldsmiths University get a real good idea of how life will operate under Islam versus the easy time they have had with Christianity.

They have gotten as far as they have because Christianity really did not force or attack them, Islam will be a totally different story.

Once upon a time we had Law and Order.

Whatever happened to disorderly conduct laws? People used to be arrested for disrupting a public gathering.

In the article it states that the university feminist organization wrote a letter in solidarity with the Islamic disrupters, stating that the event was ‘Islamphobic’. It was a brave woman speaking, and the feminists sided against her, proving that to the left, it's all about anything and everything that runs contrary to established society.

I saw the “phobic” phrase again :)

I great myself to a gulp of beer every time i see it. It’s kind of like a game. Some nights i get downright hammered.

Let’s all take our favorite word and put phobic next to it.

all of FR is obamaphobic :)

see, it’s easy and fun. teach it to your kids, parents!

(that last line will no doubt be a state tutorial soon)

I am no more islamophobic than I am cockroachphobic; I fear (root, phobos, fear) neither islam nor cockroaches. Instead, I detest both and know how both should be dealt with

I read your homepage and have great respect for you.

My better half has had stage 1 breast cancer twice.

advanced sinus cancer (had to go near brain to remove it, so she has no sense of smell) which she recovered from.

I dont like to think about it.

I am conservative from NYC so I know the constant battle we wage.

I am Terrified of cockroaches. no great love for spiders. Ex boxer and terrified of inch long creatures.

I do not fear muslims but I DO fear for my loved ones. Those that think hiding and laying low will protect loved ones from them are deluding themselves, though i can understand the trepidation.

I think seeing so many states and having such a full family and life is great.

If you only mentioned Italian in that mix, we could have been fast friends :) jk. Like you need my friendship anyway lol

And YES. Descendants are more important. But I still love Italy/Sicily.

that’s great!

Sicily is incredible. I liked it better than the mainland.

Maybe because there are distant relatives in Sicily, none that i know about in Naples.
