There is a reason Chicago mayor and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel earned the nickname “Rahmbo”. He is ruthless and relentless in acquiring and preserving power, and has no reservations about throwing people under the political bus to protect himself or his clients. He was a master at protecting President Obama’s political backside and is now busily protecting himself.

Chicago police chief Garry McCarthy, appointed by Emanuel, resigned Tuesday under pressure from Emanuel who claimed McCarthy had lost the trust of those he had pledged to serves, with Mayor Emanuel making the announcement with typical political double-speak:

The world learns what conservatives knew all along. Good article. I wonder how many from Chicago will read and believe it?

That money is the $5 million paid in March to the McDonald family, which has remained strangely quiet about the murder of their son ever since.

The payment is even more suspect when you consider that The Victim was a ward of the state; what exactly was the mother claiming? How could she justify- how could they justify- the payoff?

Also curious is that the Jesse Jackson black leadership cabal knew about the tape, etc., and kept quiet (and in fact endorsed Rahm) expecting a kickback of some sort.

One more thing to consider is that the calls for justice in this case are coming mainly from the teachers union, trying to force him into concessions ahead of a vote to strike, which now seems a certainty. He, like Obama, is a rolling train wreck.
