Very sad. I was in Gothenburg on business in 1977. I had a wonderful tour of the town, the park, the puppet shows, the music, and a couple of the restaurants there before departing for the Netherlands.
It was a lovely place, and I could tell that my host, a sea Captain for one of the major Swedish Container shipping lines was quite proud of his home. He bitched like ‘H’ about the taxes, and some of the other Socialist aspects of life in Sweden, but overall he was quite proud of his country.
I’m certain he’s dead, and gone long ago as he was the age I am now at the time. I hope the Swedish people come out of their cocoon with the Viking spirit soon.

I find it infuriating. I spent some time in Southern Sweden in 1974. The Swedes I met often asked about the rampant crime they heard about in the USA, to them it was unimaginable. I remember Malmo as a quiet coastal village.
F* ‘ing socialist idiots!
