As the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was unfolding, a high-ranking Pentagon official urgently messaged Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top deputies to offer military help, according to an email obtained by Judicial Watch.

The revelation appears to contradict testimony Defense Secretary Leon Panetta gave lawmakers in 2013, when he said there was no time to get forces to the scene in Libya, where four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

Pretty well-known that there are fast response teams in place to respond to attacks on America embassies and outposts in foreign countries. These teams are specially trained and equipped to go into unknown, hostile situations with no operational intelligence, assess the situation and respond as appropriate.

Thus the "we had no intel and we couldn't send our soldiers blind into an unknown situation" excuse is an outright lie. Not only do they train and prepare teams to do just that, but they have actually done it before on numerous occasions.
