I have it on good authority that a tier one SpecOps unit was spun up and loaded on a running aircraft in Italy and ordered to stand down.

Heard the same thing. At NAS Sigonella in Sicily, Spec Ops choppers were sitting on the runway, rotors spinning, while a squadron of F-18s was ready to follow.

No "Go".

Pisses me off endlessly. F-18’s could of been there pretty quickly and even just a high speed pass probably would of ended the attack. The drone on site could of been crashed into the mortar location. Lots of options.
