While Islam may or may not reform, if it is to have any chance of reform then this must start from within the Muslim community with some serious soul searching. As such we should welcome and promote articles like this rather than dismiss them out of hand.

I agree, however, that many Muslims who do start that process of self-examination tend to become ex-Muslims. That is a path to reform as well. I highly recommend the book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi. As fascinating look into the worldview of devout Muslims.

I don’t know that this is taqiyya, but something I’ve noticed in the past week... all the muslims complaining about unfair treatment or even addressing realistic concerns such as this man... there doesn’t seem to be a deep remorse for the victims. That should be the first reaction to last week’s horror.

Yesterday, $100,000 was raised by muslims for the San Bernadino victims. That was good, but it also demonstrates a minority of remorseful muslims.

The only way anything can be trusted is with actual results: if they start changing minds in their own muslim communities. (I won’t be holding my breath for it)
