n examination of digital equipment recovered from the home of the couple who killed 14 people in San Bernardino last week has led FBI investigators to believe the shooters were planning an even larger assault, according to federal government sources.
Investigators on Thursday continued to search for digital footprints left by Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, scouring a downtown San Bernardino lake for electronic items, including a hard drive that the couple was hoping to destroy, sources told The Times.
FBI agents will probably spend days searching Seccombe Lake and canvassing the neighborhood for clues after receiving a tip that the couple may have visited the area on the day of the attack, according to David Bowdich, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles field office.
Farook and Malik were in the final planning stages of an assault on a location or building that housed a lot more people than the Inland Regional Center, possibly a nearby school or college, according to federal sources familiar with the widening investigation.

That has been my contention all along. My guess is that the SB attack was completely unplanned and the reason it happened was that these sheet heads were preparing for something much bigger, but at the holiday party they got angry and figured “hey, let’s take these guys out since they made me mad”. They used the firepower that was originally intended for some other future attack.

This doesnt make a lot of sense to me. The party is reported to have had several hundred people available to kill. They only killed 14 before they decided to leave. Why leave? To this day people insist there were 3 shooters. Why haven’t we seen any video from inside or outside the bldg to confirm or deny this? Why havent there been any statements released from people who were there about what happened? There appears to be a coverup going on.
What would lead them to think that? I mean just because they had pipe bombs they didn’t use...

They left 3 bombs there, meant to kill first responders. The bombs didn’t work, though.
They likely intended to go elsewhere and kill more people, but the police did a good job and caught them on the road.
Oh, that's great news ... easy access to schools, food supplies for schools, and lots of info on the who's and where's ... perfectly "legitimate".

I'd prefer not to name my hometown, but it is a small town, pop. 10,000 or so. Before a Pakistani muslim (from another county) bought and converted the old church, there was not a single muslim in the town. They all came right afterwards. As far as I know, there were no muslims within at least 10 miles, until the mosque was opened.
I realize it sounds like a sci-fi horror but most people there are convinced that muslims are deliberately seeding Islamic families in small communities in America.
